do i need shocks if i get the Lux Tiens?

do i need shocks if i get the Lux Tiens?
not to sure about this but they only give you about a 1.2 inch drop up front, and a 1 inch drop in back and that doesnt seam like it would bust the shocks like what happend to Steve O.
