1 ohm stable amps
Is it safe to run at 1 ohm? I have a dual 2 ohm Kicker L7 sub and I want to run it a 1 ohm. What are some good amps that are 1 ohm stable that would provide sufficient power for my L7. thnx

it is safe to run at any impedence, so long as the amp supports it. the speaker doesn't care. many mono amps out there are one ohm stable. what will NOT work is using a multi channel amp, bridging the channels, and then running it at 1 ohm. in this case you would want to run at 4 ohms. there are some exceptions to this rule, but the amp will say what it is stable to in the specs.
there are a lot of companies making 1 ohm stable amps. mtx, hifonics, phoenix gold, crossfire, earthquake, PPI. those are just a few. give us price ranges and that'll help.
