Ok im looking for a small inconspicuous sub to put in my trunk. I dont need assloads of bass, im going for more of a full range high quality sound, so I dont need like 2X12s or anything thats going to rattle my trunk. I just want something like a single 10" I dont want to have to wire up a bunch of stuff like an amp/crossover, just something simple. My friend put a JBL 10" with a small Kenwood amp he bought off my brother for like $200, in his Subaru & it sounds freakin awesome, my bro said it was one of the best 10"s JBL makes. He has the same thing in his truck & im very pleased with how it sounds, thats what im aiming for. I was looking at maybee an infinity powered sub or something like that, thats not too expensive.
Right now im running on stock EX speakers on a JVC KDLX100 ElKameleon deck, I want to upgrade the 6X9s in the back & 6s in the doors to some Clarions or something like that, but maybee later though, I just need a sub for now, cuz im just lacking that extra punch.
Any oppinions on the powered subs, which is the best price/performance?? I tried searching, but I couldnt find anything on the powered subs.
Thanks guys

don't get a powered sub, they are good for people who don't know crap about systems, but are way overpriced. You can get an Infinity kappa perfect sub (very great sounding!) for $140 and get a 400 watt amp for around $100.They are a perfect power match and will sound 10 times better than a powered sub and cost you about $50 less!

oh yea, another thing, if ur just goin for 1 10, my friend had 2 10s (Pioneer IMPP) and the 2 of those were loud(not super loud but decent for pioneer), i'd imagine one of those 100w rms or so would be fine.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....oryId=cat03081
that sub is only 120W rms but if you're not looking for much the sub is only $60.
and the pioneer GM-X262 amp is only $60, thats 100W rms @ 4ohms, so you're at $120 before box and wiring/install/etc..

rockford's punch hx2...
the 8 will work .1-.5, while the ten is .2-.75 cu. feet sealed. they'll practically fit in your cupholder.
of course i'd still take the ID
ID subs here http://audio-n-more.com/Image_Dynami...tml#Subwoofers
sorry man, i can't in good conscience recommend pioneer subs or amps to anyone.
