Amps Opinions Please
OK, so it's time to get am amp to power my focals 165V components however I'm looking at two amps. One being a JL 300*2 and the other is a JBL/CROWN amp again 300*2. I know that JBL amps are really no comparrison to JL, however this is a new model made by CROWN who is a top home theatre amp builder. Talking with the guy who owns the shop here, he's telling me that the CROWN is gonna be nicer than the JL (he sells both). The cost is roughly the same so it shouldn't matter. What do you guys think? Heard anything on these yet?
i heard the crown, and it sounds very very nice. it was runnng either a jl or a infinity sub, can remember, if it was the infinities, it would of been the perfect 12".
but it sounds very crisp and very loud

the human ear is so damn insensitive to low frequencies that for the most part were really unable to judge these things.
im not tryin to flame you or anything, i just want to point out that in sub bass, 99% of people wouldnt relly be able to hear the difference between 2 EQUALLY powered amps with crossovers of equal quality.
for mids and highs though, you could very possibly hear differences.
mr whaler sir, i doubt youll really notice a difference between the two. the jbl will probably put out more power since its not regulated.

i don't know that that is a jbl/crown amp though. from JBL website:
The A6000GTi is the first car audio amplifier to use Crown’s Balanced Current Amplification (BCA) circuitry
they don't have another crown amp on there except this beast
link to the mother of all amps
^^ off topic, this is proof that lower impedence doesn't guarantee more power.
