Megan Racing Hi Flow Cat
Megan Racing Hi Flow Cat
Well I guess now I can say I have a COMPLETE exhaust system. I put on my Megan Racing Hi Flow Cat today and I am already impressed. It was basically a downpipe with a hi flow cat welded to it. It is stainless steel and looks way better than our stock rusted one. The previous muffler shop who did my custom piping was even kind enough to weld my stock flange to the custom pipe, so it was a perfect fit, just like if it were stock. I have noticed with the mods I have done so far that it takes a couple of weeks to bring out the best in the mod, but already I feel better throttle response and my gears feel shorter. No joke. I think that it is worth the money ($80-150) wherever you can find it, ebay, etc.
nice, so the "hi flow cat" is a real catalytic converter? Do you have an ex or lx? And are you're O2 sensors plugged into the cat? Im looking at getting the kamikaze header, some brand of cat and have a muffler shop weld it on...but i wanna make sure i get no CEL light and it'll still pass emissions
It's basically a downpipe with a hi flow cat welded to it, but it is called a hi flow by the company. I have an Ex. I think that Kamikaze and HP Racing have the same style of hi flow cat as mine. Megan Racing only makes the hi flow cat for the Ex though. It came with the O2 sensor holes and the guys from the shop attached everything together, but after about 15 minutes of driving my check engine light came on. I'm gonna jack my car up tommorow and check it out. They told me it should still pass emissions though.

the cel came on because its a resonator or a straight pipe made to look like a high flow cat... a real high flow cat you will probably have to customize to fit... i dont think that they make one for our specific aplication..
everyone calls it a high flow cat but it is not at all... i would way rather go legal and have a real high flow catalytic converter. i just moddified mycat to be straight through..

so no cel. and no fishy fuel map being sent.
i'll recommend those with the "highflow" cat/straight pipes grab an o2 sensor so you can get the best outta the mod.
and um... if that shop didn't weld it.. how else would they attach it to ur custom pipping...

any cat all you have to do is take it off and scrape all the **** out of the inside.. i did it with a long metal rod, it is siver nitrate or something like that it's like a honeycomb inside the pipe..........
