is it possible to wear your oem shocks down, and still be able to use them as koni inserts without any problems?? grrr i wish i could afford a full coilover system

i had my pro-kit on with OEM shocks for a while without any probs... it depends on how low you go and how careful you are of large dips and large potholes... i don't think that the wear on the shocks will matter with koni's because all you are using is the casing.. so unless you f that up, then you should be fine....

Went a little over 5000 miles untill I hit a super huge ditch that ran across the road running about 65 mph. Blew 3 struts.
I have Goldlines and it rode fine. Just DON"T HIT ANY BIG HOLES IN THE ROAD or you will have a bouncing *** mess of a car.

I think he was asking how long on a lowered suspension car. 30,000 on a lowered car would be AMAZING and, most-likely, unheard of!! Anyway, mine lasted 7 months (about 10K) with Neuspeed Sports. Probably coulda gone longer but decided to just get Konis anyway. And yes, your stock housings will still be okay to use with the Koni inserts.

1 year and 5 months... Still good and going. Neuspeed Sports aren't that much of a difference from stock, and they ride like stock, so I'm happy.

a true coilover is a shock and a spring into one. its like buying koni shocks and lets say neuspeed springs. the cost of true coilovers is about 900+. i got B+G's and i bought them for 975. teins go for around the same price. for the price of buying koni's then springs and a camber kit is like 850 bucks so just save another 100 bucks. i had konis and they suk. the rears of mine broke. do you know what holds the springs and the whole rear end of the car? a dam round then cheap clip thats not even welded to the shock, so if u hit a bump bad there goes ur back end. save an xtra 100-200 bucks and get true coilovers.

I've been on DZ coilovers (sleeved) for 2 weeks now and my stock struts are telling me they don't like me. They'll be gone before to long, replaced by true coilovers, but until then they're ok. Weirdest thing is, I have the rears lowered all the way and while it's bouncy, I'm still not tucking. I would have thought that I would have tucked pretty good like that but I still have a 2 finger gap. Might be time for that bumpstop to dissapear

eibach sport is 1.3 right?

or 1.5 or so?

hmm can you even see that drop? heh.

I want to lower but can't afford full coil.. nor shocks... and if the stocks blown I'm screw.

the warranty finally died out a week ago.. so its slapping on parts time.

looks like it really depends on where you drive and how you drive it..

the way i drive carelessly over bumps i'll probably blow it in a day or two.
