When I got a CAI for my Ex it was a two piece already. DIdn't cut anything although it was a tight squeeze to put the bypass valve on. Hope it helps.

Here is my car with the AEM CAI and Bypass.

YOU HAVE TO CUT THE PIPE TO INSERT THE BYPASS

You want the bypass valve to be as close to the throttle body as possible. That is why you cut the pipe. The CAI on the EX models does have 2 pipes, but they are different sizes. The bypass valve only fits the smaller pipe that connects to the throttle body so that is the pipe that you have to cut.
