My 2001 civic EX sedan
My 2001 civic EX sedan
I traded my 99 ford ranger in on the 01 vic sedan I own now. I'm not looking to drastically change anything mechanically yet. I'm lokking for the best air intake for my ride. It's a 01 ex sedan with the auto trans. I know I have alot of limitations because of the trans, but I like to cruise. I'm a long time civic fan. I do look to do a little exhaust modding but starting with the intake first.
Welcome to the site. as with MOST Civic owners, you won't be disappointed.
Athe the top of the page under the 7thgencivic.com title, you'll see a "Search" button that looks like this:
Type in 'best intake sedan automatic' and check out some of the pages that return.

K&N FIPK II.
No loss of low end torque. Then it's pretty even with stock until 3500rpm. Then you lose like 1hp from 3500-4500rpm. Then you gain like 4.6hp from 4500-redline.

Thanks for the info. I've gotten more useful info in one day at this site than any other. I'm impressed! It seems as though there aren't as many sedans out there getting tuned up,but you guys have convinced me otherwise. sniff...sniff...I love you man!

no way man! Hasport did one of the very first successful k20 (RSX) engine swaps to their SEDAN. With a lowering, tint, and rims, the sedan doesn't have to look so family friendly.
I like mine alot. I haven't had it long, but i have already added tint to the windows,I stayed stock with the rims as far as size, but I put some 15'' 10 spokes on it I found on discount tire direct. I also put a fosgate amp,and 2 10s in the trunk. The intake is next.

Sedans are cool because, um, oh yeah, because it doesn't suck to get into the back seat

I have a coupe...lemme tell ya, the back seat is of NO use to me!! And the front seats only lean back so far...but NOT far enough!
SOMETIMES I wish I had a sedan....but then again....I'll keep my coupe! lol
um...what brand for the intake is not important, generic or brand not much different IMO(brand one has a sticker), the main different is generic is cheaper. If you want to get a deep sound and less loss at the low MPG, get a 2.5" pipe (normal is 3") is the best option. You can imagine when you drinking with a strew if the strew is less diameter the air will get into your mouth faster, just think in this way...

Hmmmm....I may be reading this wrong, because your spelling SUX, lol, but it seems to me that in your metaphore, if you were drinking through a STRAW...the straw with the LARGER diameter would allow more liquid to pass through it....smaller diameter would not allow as much liquid/air to pass through..just common sense to me, but I could be wrong. To me, it sounds like the metaphore contradicts the size measurements you give. Yes, a smaller diameter might decrease the MPG lost and sound produced, but a bigger diameter (3") would give more gains. Just a thought. I have an AEM CAI and it DOES give a deep sound and a LOT more air pass through.
Again, I could be wrong.
