Ok fellas, i would seriously appreciate your serious opinions. I got the 2003 honda civic EX 1.7 vtec and wanna make it go as fast as possible without making it into a piece of ****. Thus far I have dc headers, aem full cold air intake, technica short shifter, and a few minors here and there. I have the dual canister dc sports exhaust on its way. I need ideas of what i can do, mechanically and electronically for this specific model. I will be getting a jet chip, but after i do all the modifications so they can customize it to my vehicle. I am in the process of doing the complete suspension in neuspeed as well. So if you could offer advice or products, i would greatly appreciate it. I wrote to greddy and a turbo is in the works for it. thanx fellaz

Ok, i know i should have gotten a faster car, i wasnt into the modding scene before i got the car, now its like a ****ing addiction, as you all know. I am going to be putting a turbo it in. I know it's not going to be the fastest car by all means, i just wanna make it a "sleeper" car and be able to surprise peeps. Lastnight comin back from the casino, i got up to 145, and i was impress because i havent done a whole lot to the car yet. But greddy said after jan, there will be more products for my vehicle. So i am almost done with the complete suspension package, my stereo is insane, with the 3 tvs in it, ill post pix this week. Anyhow, I know there isnt alot i can do, but i wanna know, what can i do? any recommendations from people that have the same car and have the same prob? thanx, i appreciate it, oh ya, i smoked the 6 cylinder pontica grand prix lastnight, his **** cut out at about 134, and i kept trucking

Rep Power: 0 I read that the top speed on our cars was limited to 130. So how did you hit 145?? you don't have the chip already do you? The RSX Type S top speed is 140. Anyways, I've got the same car, an 03 Ex. It really doesn't matter which bolt ons you put on your car because one is only a little bit better than the other brand, if not the same. Tommorow I'm going to spray my topspeed CAI with high temperature ceramic spray paint because like other intakes made out of alluminum, they get pretty hot after driving around for a while.

seriously, no shittin, i hit 145, i drafted the kid, then ripped by him. I do not have anything done electronically yet. my car handles mint with all the neuspeed parts i have, but have more coming.

And if you are trying to make a faster Civic, why do you add the extra weight of all those TVs?
If you want a Civic (see also Econobox) to be fast, you are gonna need to swap in a larger engine and/or do some forced induction. For a sleeper I would set up a K20a with a supercharger...but hey, that's me.

....lol, well, u dont believe me, oh well, dont really care. I am going to be adding a turbo once they are out, i wrote greddy and they said one is in the works, but no release date, so time awaits.....Will the turbo damage my engine at all or?

Even if you're limiter wasn't working, the EX could never get to 145; the gearing doesnt allow it, nor do the tires. So, unless your limiter is farked up, you're running ZR- rated tires, and you have taller gears, you are full of crap. Last edited by Metallica454; Nov 12, 2003 at 07:47 AM.

I'll have to agree with the bs flag. I have the same car. Going down hill in germany on the autobahn the tranny stops at 137. Rpm's stop at about 6500. The car makes a really loud whine and stops going any faster. don't believe me. I video it later this week.

u guys kill me, god forbid if my car went faster than one of yours, i have no reason to lie, i too was impressed. I was pushing 6500 rpm. I have some mods done to my car, it isnt stock. If you dont believe me, then get a spoon and eat my ***, cause i dont care. lol i was just making a point, not bragging. I want to make my car go faster and was asking for advice, if u wanna not believe me, than so be it.
