Me and the STANG GT

Me and the STANG GT This guy from my school who has a 99 Stang GT with Headers and a Flowmaster Exhaust has been dying to race me, I do not know why. So friday at lunch We were both rolling down a school zone and a started to "Purr" at his GT, and his GT responded with a growl. He followed me to behind the school and asked my freind and I if I wanted to race. So I didn't want to punk out right at the stop sign so I nodded yes. His freind did the count down and I got a horrible take off by my foot slipping off the clutch (popping it) at 4 Grand. I sware to got guys it looked like a burnout 
Anyways, after jumping for half a second I got a 1-1 1/2 lead on him, and then slammed it into second. Kept goin and then redlined 2nd and then CRRRRR i scratched going into to 3rd I get up to 70mph and then his GT starts comming back like hell, then he passes me. There was traffic in front of us and everybody knows what would have happened if it would have went on longer so I'm not going to claim a victory. But I was soooo proud of my Little SOHC VTEC with just CAI and muffler and piping. my 127hp vs. 260hp stock 4.6 SOHC V8 vs. 1.7 SOHC VTEC I-4

Rep Power: 0 So you bogged your launch, still somehow managed to take the lead on him out the hole, then kept the lead through first, and continue to keep the lead all through 2nd. All the while he has a good 100hp+ on you. That about sum it up?

I thought all v6 stangs were auto....? They are pretty slow also, I can beat my neighbors 2003 stang.

Rep Power: 0 my friend had a v6 5 speed he would beat every honda he raced at least the ones i saw so no your civic is not going to beat a stang unless he has a auto and like i said its still close.

Yeah . .I raced a 5.0 and there wasn't any competition .. The only time I had him was when I took off while he was burning out. But after he griped up, I got my *** handed to me. I didn't even get to 2nd and he left me bad. .

Rep Power: 0 Look I didn't beat this GT but I had him at my rear bumper till i hit 3rd gear, then he started to pull like hell. And I have raced a new stick V6 mustang and taken it. But yes it was a tight race. I did get the 6 off the line though.

Rep Power: 361 Yeah . .I beleive the V6 Stang, I had one of those beat me too, but I can understand how you could keep up. . My car was loaded down with my subs and 2 other big guys and I had a crap start because I'm not used to taking off with all the weight. .. . I think I would have done a lot better without the weight and a better start..
But the GT. . nope. . still not buying it. . Unless he was draging a bulldozer..

Just in case here's what I got outa it....
1) You bogged the launch but still took him off the line

3) messed up shifting 3rd but still beat him
OK not 1 piece of that makes sense. The only logic outa this is if he wasnt racing AND didnt start til after you went. I HATE mustangs but lets face it against your vic he'd walk you like you were standing still. I mean he would have had to NOT even step on the gas while you bogged and then NOT gone full throttle to have not beaten you when you messed up 3rd. This is not the fast and furious.

Rep Power: 0 The main idea is that I raced a gt and was beating him by like half a car till the end of his second gear, that's when he started to pull like crazy. I didn't win the race, everybody knows what would have happened: HE WOULD HAVE KEPT PULLING AND PULLING.

Rep Power: 0 Just to clarify things. Was it a mustang GT ? And if so, did the GT stand for "Grand Turismo"? And did this all really take place while playing Grand Turismo?
Other than that, the only explanation I could offer would be that he was racing in reverse.

I have both beat and been beaten by GT's in my celica. I could wakl you as if you were standing still. NO WAY IN HELL could your story have ever happend sorry. I'm not the only one here saying that so unless you are gonna flame back at all of us callin BS on this rediculous story just dont post and let the thread die!! would save everyone a lot of typing!!!

You guys are doing an excellent job of twisting my words around Maybe you guys need to read it again: Was 1/2-1 car in front of a GT till 60 (3rd gear) THEN, he pulled away. Try to imagine not "Pulling away at 70 mph" not "racing in a school zone" but comming up to one. Oh yeah, I love that video game humor GunnerX17, and the Reverse joke, I can't remember what movie its from though.
