Dust Boot..How does it look like?

I've read that this component creates many noisy problems with the teins or other aftermarket suspension products, but I don't know how it exactly looks like. Can anyone show me a pic of it, because I've searched for it for so long to find a pic but still haven't found it. Also can someone post a pic of how much i should cut them?

look above the bottom spring perch, there's a rubber sleeve over the damper.... thats the dust boot.
