Raced a Suzuki Aerio SX
I was waiting at a light by CSUF (Cal State Fullerton) and a red suzuki aerio SX pulls up next to me. I didn't even notice it until the guy rolled down his window and turned up his music. I got the idea that he wanted to run. So here we are waiting at the light. It turns green and we both had the same reaction time to it. I thought it was an underpowered POS but yea he stayed right next to me. I come and check the specs on that thing....GET THIS:
Type 2.0-Liter DOHC, 4-Cyl., 16-Valve
Block Material Aluminum Alloy
Induction System MPEFI
Displacement 121.7 cu. in.
Horsepower (SAE net) 145 @ 5,700 rpm
Torque (SAE net) 136 lb. - ft. @ 3,000 rpm
Bore x Stroke 3.31 in. x 3.54 in.
Compression Ratio 9.3:1
The curb weight is around 2800. He should have raped me since i drive a 02 lx coupe auto with i/e and 18" rims that weigh 25lbs each. Well i just wanted to add this to the list of cars that say think they can beat us but really can't.

Did he have a lot of added weight? (i.e. system or rims)
Wow, those transmissions and their gearing must suck really bad. More torque, more hp, and not much more weight = loss. It doesn't seem right, but I'll believe it.

No, it didn't seem like he had a system because he turned his music up and i didn't hear any subs. I really didn't even look at him. I just noticed that the car looked like a minivan.

just cuz it has more hp or torque doesn't mean it'll take u.
u're still around 300 to 400 lbs lighter..
gears may seem close but might not be.
there's also other difference such as the much higher redline on our car... (that isn't necessary a good thing though)
I would think stock for stock, transmission for transmission, that car is overall faster in terms of acceleration though. through the whole powerband.
can't base much on a quick race on the street.
