Question What should I use to keep my fuel and fuel system clean? (help)

i have begun storing my car during the week. on the weekend i'll take her out. i've been on a full tank of gas since basically the mid of august. grey mentioned something about sta-bil, but i read up on it and i'm not sure if that's what i need to go with. what's with that chevron stuff everyone uses?.... what's it called? i think it's for fuel and fuel system cleaning. can someone fill me in on it? or fill me on another product? my car's bearly under a half a tank right now and it's october. so since i have stored the car i know my fuel systems gathering a alot of gunk and dirty stuff, i'm sure. help me out guys, i need some help

Techron is a fuel system cleaner, thus only works when the car is being driven. I don't know about anything for long-term storage.

when you store the car, you want to leave it with a full tank because if there is a lot of room in the tank, it can gather moisture, and you don't want water in your fuel.

I dont think you'd have to do anything extra if you drive it on weekends. Just take it out on the highway and let it get fully warmed up and you should be good. The idea is you want to burn off any condensation and moisture. It the guys who store their cars for months on end that really need to follow storage techniques more thoroughly.

well my d17 stays stored because it's a high performance race motor. i'ts not at all made for the daily grind you know, it's a delicate yet precise machine that needs to be handled with the utmost care. no no just kidding.

i have moved on campus for this semester. i come home on the weekends and i take my car out. otherwise when i'm at school she's stays in a heated garage with a honda cover set over her. she use to be a daily driver, when i was a commuter (college) student last year.... but not no more!

i'm in the exact same situation as you... i live near campus and i just carpool with my gf and leave my car at home... i just use it on the weekends...

you don't need to do anything, as long as you drive it at least once a week, you'll be fine...

the only time you should be worried is when you store the car for months, you pour some shiz in before you store it...

jsut a question... what is so special about ur civic that u garage it during the week... and turn her loose only for the weekend????
they are just getting their beauty rest during the week
