Who gets rear seat headrests?

Is this an 03 thing? The girl that lived across from me last year got an 03 LX and she had rear seat headrests. My 02 EX doesn't have those.

Anyone?

he means real headrests...that are detached from the actual seat. so yeah, 01 and 02 models just have the "hump," and 03+ have detached ones...

though, i don't know if they're adjustable. can anyone with an 03 let me know?

Yeah, I don't mean the little bumps like I have on mine, I mean a full head rest like how Volvos have them in the back seat (at least most of the ones I see do).

To whoever said it looks ghey, how gay will it look when it prevents you from getting whiplash in an accident?

so people can rest their head.

it works.

i'd like them.

but I dont drive people around much.

so it'll only obstruct view.

although I doubt it blocks much if any.

I have a 2001 coupe, and mine didn't come with them. I think they'd get in the way. I don't take rear passengers often either.

*ALSO*

Sedan headrest do not come with a hole through the center like coupes have!

This is not a matter of esthetics people!! This is a SAFETY item. I work in the insurance industry and let me tell you that the NUMBER ONE cause of whiplash is improperly adjusted head rests. By adding higher head rests on the back seats, you reduce the chance of whiplash in rear seat occupants. So, who the hell cares if the "humps" look better????!!!?? SAFETY MATTERS MORE THAN LOOKS.

i got the impression that the humps were doing a good job, also feel better because of the appropriate height. i am aware that headrests need to be high so ur neck doesnt snap back.

The term "head rest" is a poor description of what these devices are. They should be called "head impact absorbers" or something like that because the last thing you should be doing is resting your head on them. If you are sitting in the rear seat and you lean your head back and the head rest is now in the upper part of your neck and your head is angled back on top of the head rest, you are now in grave danger of severly injuring you neck in a rear impact. The ideal situation is to have the top of the head rest at the same height of the top of your head for maximum protection.

Yeah I have an 03, and I don't think the backseat headrests are comfortable at all! Stiff and too high... I sat in the back of my friends 6th gen (w/ the bump) and its so much more comfortable! But yes they are adjustable up and down, but not my favorite feature.

The one's in my dad's 03 EX are comfortable. I also like the little holes in the front for air passage... The rear adjustable headrests should get the little hole for a better view `cause those things are tall and block a lot of the view.

The little things in the car that I drive are very uncomfortable and probably wouldn't help much in case of whiplash. They have evough cushioning to support a head but not enough to support someone my size or taller.
