Bypass valve for injen intake
i installed the aem, it works the same, but it wont stop all water, just a few weeks ago i sucked up some water, and my car would not stay on and kept bogging down, so i had to park it, wait till the rain stopped, then i had to come back to get it, took it home made sure the pipes were not wet, and re evaluated the bypass valve, it was the first time my car flooded out, i was lucking i didnt blow a engine, but ive been in lots worse storms than that and never had any problems, so it is a saftey percaution but it wont stop all water, just remember that......

For the injen rd cold air intake, just get the splash guard, works great. I have driven in heavy *** rain storms and it covers most of the filter and deflects water splashed up towards the filter. with having the bypass valve, and not the splash guard, all kinds of crap gets on the filter and water will go in. Also unless your filter is completely under water, no water will reach the engine. The inside of the intake is at high tempatures, so if any water go in it, it will evaporate befor it gets to the throttle body. but if you want to be safe, get both. I do highly recommend the splash guard though. www.ptuning.com has it for like $45.
