Does it? It looks like it would function like a spoiler kinda.
Would this make in difference in accelerating or conering? It would push down in the middle of the car instead of in the back like a spoiler.

Useless... if anything it raises the air stream and takes air flow off the trunk lid. Wanna corner better, open the sunroof. Drop that 40 lbs down as low as you can.
OMG did you seriously ask this question? Tilting the sunroof will not create more downforce! It will however cool you off on a hot summer day, and/or create more drag. I don't mean to flame you, I was just surprised that you asked this question, seeing as how the query into downforce/spoiler has been beaten to the ground...hence, if the wing doesn't do anything, neither will the sunroof. The theory behind the question is sound, but not probable. IMO

^ Haha dude I was just curious.
I know that spoilers create downforce and are useful for RWD cars, but since a propped open sunroof resembles the angle of a spoiler, I thought it might do something. The only reason I thought it might do something is because it's farther forward than a rear spoiler so I thought it might push the car down evenly instead of just the back.

Spoilers (Properly designed and implimented) are usefull on all cars RWD FWD and AWD. the reason people claim that its only usefull for RWD cars is because they are only thinking of drag racing. but for a production car, their use at all is negligible (If you were going fast enough and had spent the time to tune it, it may give you some down force that was worth the extra drag it created), and most sanctioning bodys (SCCA or NASA) do not allow them in most classes any way.
Okay if your going to come in and make his question seem absurd, atleast do a good job of it. It is not relevant as to what speed you are going, sticking something in the air is only going to create more drag than was there initially.
