I have done it once and can never do it again. that had to be the most awesome shift ever made but it didnt sound anything like the 2nd gear chirp. it was more like "beep"
I have a 2001 lx coupe and I do it in third everytime I try. Diablo you said that your dad does it everytime too, but you notice that he doesn't redline. The reason for not redlining is that around 5,500 to 6,300 RPM that is where our cars make the most power in second. If you go past that RPM point the power starts going back down.
So next time when fulling around take your car to around 5,500 to 6,300 RPM's and shift as hard as you can.
I have chirp with 17" rims on my car.

if your chirping the tires in a turn its not because of the power of the car....... its called an open Differential. ONe of the 2 front tires is underload, the one on the out side of the turn, the other tire has very little wieight on it and thus little traction, open Diffs transfer power to the wheel that has the least resistance.... So more power goes to the wheel with the least amount of traction. the bad thing about doing this is, not only are you accelerating slower you are also understeering more in the corner....
