Lights Randomly Flickering, Remote Under Warranty?
Yesterday my friend tells me my alarm is going off and to come outside. I do not have an alarm, I have the regular OEM keyless entry. I pressed lock, which shut the the lights off temporarily. Then they came back on again randomly until I disconnected my battery. Then I ripped the battery out of remote, and it continued to flicker and honk. I immediately took it to honda, but was unable to duplicate the problem, don't you hate how that always happens. My warranty is up in 400 miles and I would like to figure out what is wrong before it's too late. I talked to the Honda service guy and he said there's no wiring to take a look at. It seems to do it whenever my remote gets within distance of the car, but that still doesn't explain how it did it without the battery in the remote. I also didn't think the headlights flicker with the panic/keyless do they? Well a new remote is gonna cost $100 at the dealer, and $25 online, but I'll probably be over 36,000 by the time it gets here. Is that stupid remote still under warranty or is it just normal wear?
Did you modified your car? Installed new aftermarkets stuff? I'd say tried to duplicate the problem before you go to the dealer. Start jotting down what you did before the lights goes off. Try to keep your mileage under 36000 so you have a chance to fix this under warranty.
And YES, this is a warranty issue only if you didn't cause the problem to arise.
