I have a AEM CAI used available to me. Now would there be anything wrong with picking this up? The dude sold his civic. The intake is like a year old. What should I look for, issues wise? Oh and ya it's for an EX, does it really matter if I have a DX? I've heard mixed stories about the whole DX/LX to EX thing.
Thanks

Make sure it will fit your car (tranny issues mainly) and get it. Replacement filters are much cheaper than a brand new intake, even one of the no-name brands off of ebay. I'm sure the intake is in good condition but check it for dents. You also have to remember that it won't be as pretty as a new one, but just as functional. I recently picked up a used Injen SRI from a member of this site for $80 with a strut bar and am thouraghly satisfied. It's just as good as a new one, just had to clean the filter before I used it. I would say go for it if the price is right.
As far as the trim level, if it is an SRI, it doesn't matter but if it's a CAI you might have a problem. It's all in the tranny, if he has a 5-spd and you have a 5-spd no problem, but if he had an auto and you a 5spd (or vice versa) then there might be a conflict. Ask him for a test fit before you give him any money if you are in the same area, he shouldn't have a problem with that. But it should work, good luck.

you just have to make sure if you get the AEM CAI your driving standard opposed to auto...
worry... if your saving a lot of money why not... but new AEM CAIs if you get a deal are pretty cheap.. $300CAN
& you can always get a new filter....
