Dc Strut Bar Problem
My upper Dc Strut Bar is messed up... its not rigid... its on tight and does not move
side to side but it moves a little up and down...
it doesn't bother me when i drive its not like moving up and down or anything.. but
when its parked hood popped open if you grab it and pull it up and down it moves!!!!
Dc Strut Bar owners how the hell do i fix this?
any suggestions?

yea...i thought the DC strut bar was supposed to move up and down. it doesn't matter that much cuz u just dont want it to move side to side. but if i really bothers you...i guess u can try tightening the allen screws at each angle? i dunno..give it a shot. i mght try it too

I have the Neuspeed upper strut bar and it works the same as my friends DC Sport upper strut bar. I wouldn't worry about it. You wouldn't notice a difference if you tried both of them. If you want the DC because it's better for show purposes, go for it. DC isn't that bad of a company...I have their exhaust and I love it...My friend has the front upper and upper rear tie bars and he likes them as well. I wonder why people hate on DC Sports for...Is it because of the price???

All I have to say is this:
Find a Dc Sports strut bar installed on a 7th gen., grab it, and pull it up and down. The dang thing flexex an inch in both directions easily. They are a joke!

Get a Neuspeed upper bar...not the prettiest but I think it's the strongest out there...
You could get extreme and go with an X-Brace...he he he.

I think DC's rear lower tie is ok...I just installed it and it fits pretty solid...help correct understeer just a bit and looks good too.
I won't take a chance with the front upper strut tho...Neuspeed all the way!

yeah, I guess you're right about the Progress...ideally, I would have got that or the Neuspeed combo, but I'm getting the RSX sway soon, so I just wanted something to go with that. That, plus I got a good price for the DC locally.
Thanks for the comment tho

I have had my dc strut bar for about a year now...yea it moves up and down but that doesn't realy matter...the point is to titen up the suspention and it does that...I think it works great...I don't realy care if it moves up and down a little bit...the only time you are going to notice it is if you lean on it and that's not what it's made for so...I don't see what the big problem is.

The point of the Strut bar is to get the Shock towers to not move durring a corner. If a Strut bar has any flex at all, then its not doing that job nearly as well as it could. So, Does the DC strut bar strengthn the front? Yes, Does it do it nearly as well as it could? Not bloody well likely.
Use a little logic here.... So the DC strut bar flexes up and down, So what? well think here, the bar will do fine if the strut towers flex away from each other(it will be pulling the bar appart). but what happens is one of the Strut towers flexes twards the other? well the it pushes the bar together, Flexing the Strut bar like a bow.... So when this happens then the DC bar aint worth ****. Like I said, Stut bars, Tie bars ect... SHOULD HAVE NO FLEX IN THEM WHAT SO EVER!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to start a fight with anyone over this subject...it's not realy worth it...I am just voicing my opinion. From what I can see and from my personal experiance with the strut bar...It has greatly improved my cornering and the small amount of flex in the bar doesn't seem to effect the preformance(this is in my oppinion). I have also noticed that when the bar moves up and down...it's not the bar that is flexing...the bar is connected to the base by a ball and socket joint. With a ball and socket joint, there is going to be some movement but the bar doesn't bow up at all...or should I say, not that I have noticed. I don't know, this is just my experiance with the product...some other people might have experianced something elce.
