This might be a stupid question but......
I know on the S2000 you have to turn the car to the start position and then push the button (on the left side of the steering wheel), then the car goes on.
That seems to be a little out of place to do that. Wouldn't you have to reach all the way over with your left hand to turn it on (if it works the same way the s2000 does).
Is this thing actually fuctional or it just lights up...

You put your key in. Turn it to the on position(position 2, NOT turning it so far that it tries to kick over).
Then press the button(with my right hand) and it fires up.
I like the position my button is in because it allows me to let others sitting in the passenger seat try it. This is good for stuff like shows to let spectators try it out.
Yes, my button is functional(your question about this made me fall out of my seat laughing...thanks for the humor). When I put the key in and turn it to the on positions my start button lights up letting my know that my car is ready to be turned on.

Um actually I have been in an S2000, I have driven an S2000 and actually had the wonderful opportunity to ride in a supercharged one. Thank you.
My point was this. In the S2000 you have to turn the key and then push the start button. Which is on the LEFT side of the steering wheel, the correct place for the start button as shown in this pic.
Where you have it is just so out of place. Why would you want to reach down there to turn your car on. Its just not ergonomical (if you know what that means). Anyway, I guess if you like it thats all that matters.
O and you did answer my question if it is actually functional, Thanks.

But the point is that you don't have to turn the key and press the button at the same time.
Just turn the key then press the button. I don't see what the big deal is.

Um, isn't it just easier to start the car the normal way? It only takes one hand that way. And it's faster, because you can just turn the key a bit farther.

Good luck with the install. I've had my S2000 starter button for about a year now. You will need a single pole double throw relay in order for it to work with your car. The wires you need to tap are the ignition 1, ignition 2, 12V constant, and accessory. You will also need a ground. The S2000 button itself is easier to connect if you find a floppy drive pin connector to use for the wiring. It made life a lot easier for us on the install. Have fun. I wrote a DIY for another site that I'm a member of, but I can't find the file now.... sorry.
