Mitsubishi Cars The Next Big Thing??
I went to the mitsubishi dealership today. I think they're going to take Toyota and Honda for a little run for young buyers green. I took Lancer OZ out for a test drive, they offered 11800 for my Civic. I kinda liked it, only if I could have both
Anyways who here thinks that mitsubishi Lancer is going to be the next civic? I think they're on to something. Anyways I'm going back tomorrow to see if I can get a deal. Sorry Honda.

if you are going to get lancer. get 2004 Mitsubishi Ralliart Lancer
160hp engine, along with a not-so-impressive exterior styling . lol
2.4l 4g64 MI, Stiffer suspension.Lancer Ralliart will start under $18,000 ..

The Lancer OZ rally is crap...
They don't handle as well as our civics, are much heavier, and don't have that much more power... any additional power they do have is lost because of the added weight

I like the look of the car, but the quality and reliability of a mitsu does not stand up to Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, or Honda. I would not trade in a civic for a lancer. If you are going to trade it in for anything...Trade it in a for a corolla....
i think the lancer is a nice looking car.....if you are into modding tho i say stay with the civic..... i agree with civicdude the reliabilty of mitsu's suck i would never buy 1 again unless i rebuilt the motor myself and used it once a week.....the only cool thing i see about the lancer is that it comes in yellow

Mitsubishi is well is and always will be a Mitsubishi they always had "OK" cars but lacked a certain amount of qauilty that you found in Honda and Toyota. They are even having trouble with the Evo 8 I'm always hearing horror stories about the motors. Just because they might look nice to you and come at a right price doesn't mean anyways. Almost every one i've worked with had some wierd **** going on with it or rust or something (even brand new ones). I wish you luck if you buy the car and you will prolly have a car that will last a long time but still you will see were toyota and honda put in the extra care.
Well, if you can get past the "Son of the Pontiac Sunfire" looking front end, the new Lancer Ralliart looks pretty nice for a reasonably priced econo-sport 4 door. They even have a wagon model now. With 162hp and 162 lb-ft, it may give Sis a run for their money, let alone our D17 equiped 7th gens. Here's a first drive of it at edmunds.com:

Mitsu is definately getting people's attention. However, I have my eye on Mazda they seem to be "getting it" as of lately. I love the Mazdaspeed protege and the 220HP Mazda6 is awesome. I'm not even going into the RX8 or the possibility of a new RX7. Like I said IMO Mazda is the one to watch right now...

MS nailed it right there.
With the introduction of the RX-8 and the likely revival of the 7, Mazda has a few surprises in store for us all. And their non-rotary cars are certainly not slouching in the least, either.

i checked out a couple evo forums....
the clutch keeps breaking after only 1000-2000 miles.
theyve got it bad. theyre already thinking about getting a refund.
now i gots to rethink my evo venture for a while before buying a 30000 car that cant even handle a little stress after a 1000 miles!!

buy an evo they are hard *** hell stock, but modified they are even sweeter. my friend happens to own one and i would trade him every civic in the world for his car. if you cant drive a stick maybe the clutch will burn up after a 1000 miles but who cares buy a new one its well worth it awd turbo what more could you ask for

I have an evo8 and I can tell you how solid these cars are. The engines are practically bulletproof and they're meant to be used and abused.
as for clutch issues... bah, drop a stage3 in and ur set
.. my evo has about 2.4k miles on it and I still have no problems (abusing the hell out of it ) and my friend's with almost 10k on it has no issues either.

He has upgraded the turbo with a greddy turbine and did some other stuff (upgraded fuel system, ignition) and not once has the car broke down. he is boosting 1 bar.
