engine swap or turbo?

What would be cheaper? Swap or turbo. local shop here told me if would be 5 grand for everythin i need to complete the job including install. 5k is alot so i was wondering if a swap would be better for me instead? also, if i went with turbo how much better would my car run?
what would be the stats on my car? hp? etc....
If i went with a swap, whats a good engine that would fit in a 2002 civic coupe.....

if you know where i can get the complete turbo kit for under 5k, do tell.

thanks

k20 is a good swap, it'll be more than 5 grand most likely tho, but more power

200 horses
with the turbo it depends

up to you in the end.. but if money is no object then swap + turbo would be nice for around 10-11 k total... im going turbo... best bang for buck, and potential to build motor for more boost, then shoot for 12's.......

a member on here has a 13.6 second turbo d17 in socal, but if you get a k20a2 with intake, intake gasket, exhaust, header and good tires and suspention you can into the 13.8 going NA

the k20 swap is no longer 10 grand anymore. more and more shops are becoming familiar with the swap and prices are getting cheaper for both labor and the motors. if you look hard enough, you can get the swap for a few hundred more than the turbo.

do engine swap~
sure it's more expensive, but i think it much better than turbo D17, cuz you only get a limited hp out of it. with a k20, you already have 200+hp. so yeah, go for swap~

here's how much i've spent on the new engine.
RSX type-S = $ 3590
Injen intake = $ 250
DC header = $ 360
Labor = $ 1500+ (don't know how much yet)
other parts = still looking
my car is automatic, so i'm doing a auto to manual and a engine swap, so there are so many parts that i need to get.....

hopefully this can be done w/ np
