DIY : air filter replacment

i just changed my dirty air filter, and considering a just got a camera for my cell phone, i though i might as well make a DIY of it, so here we go :

1) unbolt the 7 screws that attatch the filter cover using 8" bolts, u can also use a square screw driver.

2) take of the plastic cover, and place the screws in a safe place, this is what u should be left with

3) now you should see the paper filter, pull it out, it is not attached by anything, this is what it should look like after u pull it out

place in the new filter, again just push it in, no effort needed.

put back on the plastic cover, tighten the screws, and voala, u r done, u have just added 0.05hp to the wheel.

i used a fram filter here as it only cost me 20 dollers, but u can alwats get a K&N filter which can be taken out and washed over and over.

you dont have to take the screws all the way out, once they come off the bottom part of the housing the top part can be removed and the screws stay in. just my 2 cents.

20 bucks for a fram air filter? i bought mine on base for less than 10. hmmm on base is not that cheaper than outside.

um... i dun think the screw are supposed to separate from the filter cover like that.... mine stays on the cover even after it's lossened off the filter chamber.... 20 buck is about right CDN

just don't be stupid like me, there's one longer bolt which goes in the center, well mr. idiot put all screws in pocket and randomly put them back in in the dark, well i tried putting the longer one in the wrong spot, it was late, I was rushing like an idiot
