Okay, you all know about my other thread where I was going to Hardin Honda to ask about some things defective to be fixed/covered under warranty.
The day I dropped it off, I did so at 8 am.
I came back at 2pm (el tiempo promised), and I waited a few minutes for my car to be done and brought out.
This is what he said they did
1) check suspension -nothing wrong
2) order some vents for interior of car
I drove the car to the dr's office, (I was late as my appt was at 2:45 and in a far-away city).
Suddenly, after 10 mins of driving, my car was making these MONSTROUS LOUDASSED NOISES. I was scared ****!!!
I thought my car was going to fall apart. I didn't know what to do; I swear the noises were so loud.... louder than a MOTORCYCLE in your ear.
Fawk.
I came back right from my dr appt (again, drove far, far away).
I waited for a couple hours.
I got my car back; the guy said they forgot to put some things back where they belong. (OMG, that didn't sound good to me.)
I tell the guy we must test drive; he okays.
We go for a 5 min drive. No probs.
I drive home.
After 40 mins of driving, the monster noise starts up again.
The car is vibrating like crazy. Again, I am scared and going to **** in my pants.
They are closed when I get home.
Today, first thing in the morning, I skip class to go to Hardin.
The service guy insists that it is my aftermarket stuff making the noise; I tell him if it was, how come the noise didn't start until AFTER Yesterday, when they had my car?
So he is pretty nice to send me to Enterprise.
Enterprise has no cars.
I wait for 3 hours, and I am missing class this whole time. I also have an exam in my next class, and I am scared I will miss it.
LITERALLY 3 HOURS, I WAITED INSIDE THE HOT ENTERPRISE OFFICE.
Finally, they put me in a shitty metro.
I wait all day, and mr. service doesn't call.
Finally, just now, I got a call: he gives me this long speech, and I say, "So what are you trying to say? What did you do to my car???? What did the mechanic touch???"
They apparently CRUSHED MY EXHAUST and it was HITTING THE BODY OF MY CAR, BURNING IT, ETC.
wtf???
Okay, the service guy was nice; I have to give him that.
But the mechanic doesn't know how to put a car on a lift??? My boyfriend has put my car on a lift a billion times, and I know how it is done. I can do it myself.
WTF???
The exhaust has nothing to do with it!!
I told the service guy, "I paid 600 dollars for that exhaust, and now it's crushed?????"
Yeah.. pretty much...
bah!!!!!!

Well, it was crushed (the part under my transmission box and the hand brake) and knocking up/burning on my car.
Another part that contributed to the noise was that they did not put my suspension back on the right way.

Holy fawkin **** batman!! talk about complete incompetence. Call up DC and explain the situation and ask them how much for a new mid pipe. Then go to "hard on" honda and see if they'll foot the bill....which they should. Be tough and polite. Good luck!

i wouldn't call up DC and tell them the situation...i would just straight up talk to the supervisor of Hardin honda and find a way to settle this which is their fault and they should take responsibility for it and replace all parts broke by them and have all their employees re-trained to put a f*cken car on lifts...

Last time, I had many problems with Downey Hondaworld.
Now, this time, I am having problems with Hardin Honda. It seems that I have very bad luck EVERY time I go to any dealership.
EEEeeeeek!!
I have absolutely horrible luck. After this whole ordeal is over (which means after I get my vents), I will NEVER go to a Honda dealership EVER again.
Also, I will see what the service guy says tomorrow and will decide what to do then.
They won't get to trick or mistreat me, just because I'm a girl. I won't let them.
Anyway, yelling at them won't do me any good (been there, done that with downey honda).
So I will just have to wait and see what they do next.

That sux a$$!! u go through more **** then u need to with those fcuked up people.Thats not fair!! I would cry! Ive never had problems w the dealer dudes ******* w me, but if they did theyd have HELL 2 PAY!Giving u the run around all the x. I have friends with similiar problems, they take me with em and i talk ish and get ish done. sorrie i hope everything works out for you

dayum! I have never taken my car to Hardin for service before. . .I only go there cuz of the kool *** parts guy. I wont go there for service now that i hear this.

Okay, spoke to Hardin Honda today.
This is what they said; they are going to replace the part that was crushed. They are themselves getting the part from DC sports and going to install it for me; I get to drive the SHITTY GEO METRO SMELLY RENTAL car for free until they fix it.
I somehow feel sick to my stomache hearing that they will "fix" the mistake, because if they can't put a car on a lift, how can they fix my car? WTF?
Do they know how to do it? I bet there will be hand/oily prints all over my stainles steel exhaust burnt into it when I get it back. My original exhaust was installed using towels -- no hands allowed on it!! GRRRRrr!!! I think I am going to get an ulcer thinking about it; I'm worried about my car.
Anyway, I feel that I have lost ALOT of time driving around, going back and forth, etc. to deal with these losers, but no, they are not giving me anything extra. I would of course, like to ask for something extra, but I don't know what to ask for? I don't want to ask for any more of their "service" --- anyway, hopefully I get my car back in one piece and will leave it at that.
I don't want to deal with them ever again.

EVER.!!!
Yeah, so my experience with two dealerships have both sucked.

Be warned!!!!
EVERYONE STAY AWAY from Hardin Honda and Hondaworld.

glad to hear that they havn't turned their back on you.
Something tells me that they wont give you anything BIG extra. Try for a full tank of gas and a wash/detail. Good Luck !

Damn that sux big time. Yeah I hate dealers too!! I went to go get my leak in the trunk fixed which all they needed to do was get a new weather stripping. And during the time it was leakin and I had no time to fix it so I temperarily used a white cauking for bathrooms to seal it up but it didnt work, it was still leaking. So the mechanic looks at it and calls me up saying that my car has been in to an accident and that I would have to take it to the body shop to get it repaired . I was like WTF!!! I was so pissed. So once I got to the dealers hella mad tellin the service advisor that you guys wont fix the leak and you guys said that I have to take it to the body shop!! I was like yellin at him. So he said Im sorry I wasnt the mechanic working on the car but Ill check and see the car. Once he looked he said theres no reason why we cant fix it under warranty. We are sorry, give us about another hour and it should be ready. And I said thank you. Ever since that I stopped going to the dealers ever again . All the oil changes and recommended maintance Im gonna do it all myself. F*** the dealers!!! They dont know s***. Ive been gettin letters from honda for recommended maintance. SCREW THE DEALERS!!!!!

okay, so i asked for some OEM floormats and a cargo net for my car to make up for this ish...
BIG MISTAKE
They want me to give them an excellence rating etc....
Guess what they made me do last minute last night??????
They had me return the rental car and drive my UNFIXED CAR home.
WTF????
I said no, and they didn't give me any other choice.
They are the ones that broke my car!!!!!
Now they want me to drive my car unfixed until they can get the part!!!!!!
It seems that the part never came in!!!
Now i have a ****ed up honda sitting in my garage with the wheel well messed up (yes, they ****ed that up), a glove box that doesn't shut unless u slam it (they did that to my glove that worked perfectly fine before), and also the exhaust broken.
My car was almost perfect: now, they wasted my several times driving back and forth, forcing me to do this, time off school/work, and everything is screwed up. Even have scratches (new ones) on my car. Damn stupid mechanics and the whole service center!!!!!!
WTF???????
I am so mad; then the service manager has the nerve to say "maybe" on the cargo net.
I called and demanded to speak to the general manager aka owner of dealership today.
She wasn't there.
Monday, I will speak to her and let her know my situation and how unhappy I am.
What shall I ask for in repayment of my frustrations ????
Help!!
I will tell her.

I went there 2 days after I saw this to get some bulbs for my license plate, and I asked the parts guy if he knew what happened. He also told me that they had the DC parts shipped overnite but that they sent the pipe for an Si and not a Civic Coupe. But them telling you that you need to drive your broken car home is a big WTF?!?! I honestly cant believe they told you that.

Things to think about asking for: S2000!!!!!

Have you called Honda yet? Let the dealer management knw that you will be calling Honda and relaying your story to them. Also check the BBB website to see what kinda rating they have. Chances are that if they have a bad rating and you threaten to call Honda they will treat you better. Just drop some hints about calling Honda to the Gen Mgr, also mention that you know they have a bad BBB rating, if they actually do, and things should get a wole lot better. keep us posted.

thats bull that they tell you to drive a car with a crushed mid pipe.

thats not even safe! do you know how bad it was crushed? is it just leaking exhaust (hence the noise) or crumbled up...

it was most likely an inexperienced mechanic (wouldn't even call him a mechanic) or one of the little guys that do the little things... (ie: changes the tires with the impact gun and go crazy on it)

you should not have asked specifically for anything.

tell him:

"This is an obvious mistake on your part. I have lost a lot of time in this. I have missed some very important class and appointments. What are you going to do about this?"

how come you budge when they told u to take your car home? I dont get it, how come you couldn't keep that rental?

thats another dealership I'd avoid.

personally most dealerships are gay. its difficult to find a trustworthy body/auto shop too.

They said they couldnt afford to let me keep it over the weekend for two days.
Anyway, I'm at school right now and am pretty sad. On my way here, the noise (which they said they made unnoticeable) started again. It's not just that I hear a noise, but it's like crazy knocking.... and most of all, it's scary to drive. I don't feel safe.
Anyway, you guys are right. I don't want to ask for anything. All I want is for them to fix my car, and also I am waiting to get in touch with the general manager who is named Roberta Hardin (She must be owner or family of owner).
Thanx for ur input. It's just really stressful.
First I feel so mad that I have to miss work and school.. then I feel scared.... then I feel helpless...
stupid me.
anyway, thanx. i will post next after I speak to the manager... not the retard service manager but the general manager, roberta.

when you speak to the manager don't start asking for a bunch of stuff to make it better. It will just make you look like you're out to get free stuff and discredit your image. Just try to get the problem fixed and thats it.
