Major tune up project
So some of you know and some of you dont. I recently had some major problems with my dc sports exhaust and the law. So i gave my exhaust back to the dealership where i got the car, and they are cutting me a large check for the exhaust. The whole story can be found in the North East Fourms under "so i got the reach around from MA today". ......
I recently hit 80k in the car, and I have never had a tune up. All I did was change the oil (Mobile 1, 10-30 synthenic) every 4k, and put bosche plat plus 4 spark spacks in it around 20k. Thats it for maintance.... But anyhow, with that money I am going to do a nice tune up. Tell me what you think. This will be a fun weekend job.
Change the oil (well duh)
New plugs, same as the above.
Change the head gaskit to a newer one
Flush the radiator fluid, refill with honda oem
Clean and recharge the AC system
Change all the brakes and new rotors (80k orriginal on pads, 30% left)
Flush and clean the brake lines (honda oem brake fluid)
Rotate the tires
Change the fuel filter
Change the in cab vent filters
Clean my K&N
Change the water pump
Change the timing belt at the same time as the water pump/belt
Change the other belts
Flush the tranny fluid, fill with honda oem
Depending if I wana spend the extra cash at the end, I was thinking about changing my clutch. Its still the oem, it still works great as new, but I kinda wana get a stage 2.
Whatcha think? I might need alot of beer for the day.

Hey Bhaz sounds like you definately have a fun weekend planned. I think alot of what you are planning to do is worth the time and effort but some of the work is not required yet.
Plugs, Oil, and Filters is a good idea.
The basic belts are a good idea but you are quite early for doing the timing belt. If Im not mistaken you can go 120,000 safely before you need to replace it. The water pump is a good idea to change when doing the timing belt cause of the work involved in getting in there.
As for the AC the system is a sealed unit and it really shouldnt need to be cleaned/recharged unless you have a leak. And of course if you have a leak you should get that fixed first.
As for the head gasket I wouldnt touch that at all. Its my belief it aint broke dont fix it! Preventative maintenance is great but a head gasket is not something that really breaks down. It would be like replacing the intake gaskets and everything else. IF you pull the head then you have to look at have thing heads planed for squareness and all the other frustrations with it.
Good luck and have fun with whatever you decide to do

the things that always break are moving parts...
things that just sit there don't break...for example...a intake filter... it just needs to be cleaned, that was a bad example... umm, lets see, your radio..

coolant, brake fluid, tran fluid.... you don't have to use
the Honda brand, despite what their crappy manual says.
in fact, you can probably get higher quality fluids
for a cheaper price than what Honda sells.

Becareful.. if you change too much at one time and have a problem, it might be hard to tell which part went bad. I'd do the small stuff then later tackle the bigger stuff one at a time once your certain everything is fine.
