Job market in Houston and surronding areas
Does anyone know a few places to try in the surrounding areas or in houston? I live in katy.. I have been looking for about 1 week and a half, and I need more ideas on where to go. I have a staffing agency, but they cant tell me much for another day or so.. I'm getting a little woried.
I have office skills and background, shipping/recieving background, Consumer service experience, retail experience, construction experience, home mechanical experience. I konw how to do a lot of things, just trying to find something in this highly-populated area, and with summer it is harder to find something that isn't already taken by 12 other poeple.
Thanks,
Craig

Bro, something I would say is to put your name at as much temp agencies as you can! That way you have a lot of diff places lookin for jobs for you. And at the same time, go to the TWC...Texas Work Force Commition<--or something and they have some PC's there that you use to look up jobs according by your back ground and where you live. It's not like finding a job on the internet. But good luck in the search bro...Economy sucks right now bro, so take what you can!

Em.. that's what I thought.. I'm afraid that with the economy down it will become much more difficult. BUt I will take what I can until I can get a little better position, and when the economy is better get a better job. But I'll never give up on a good job..
I have a few guys sweating to get me in, but they really cant you know.. sucks.. 3 different places I am in very well with the managers and for many months they just haven't had openings but I'm in their mind.. just right now it's bad..

Yep.. I will start at Discount Tire Co. pushin tires for 3 weeks then move to the front and see from there... but I will certianly continue looking, thanks for the reference on those agencies.. I work with prostaff, but administaff only has careers with them, there are for business'. I checked with administaff a while back when I worked with the law firm.
