celica gts beats me by 1 car length good enough for gx pistons
i was expecting to get smoked since this on guy in a celica gts was driving really fast so i decided to play before going directly to the shop to get my gx pistons removed. we rolled from 60 all the way to 120 on interstate 4 and 2nd to 4th gear, we were together and in 5th, he pulled ever so slightly. i would consider it gx piston power at the risk of your car falling apart. i hope this is entertaining enuff ya'll... anyways the check engine light was on so does that mean vtec didnt engage? if it did, i could have won... maybe

I will assume he was in an auto GTS celica, unless this was some older model celica?

i have now a manual and i think he also may have had a manual by the way it shifted to 6th when i lost by a car length

if it went to 6th... then it was manual... no 6th gear in an auto GT-S... good race chrissy... but ur takin out the pistons??? to much maintenence?

yes... engine always overheats with them on. at least the guy removed them for free since he felt sorry for me...

hey thats pretty good if you could hang with him for awhile. i tried one from a dead stop and just gave up when i shifted to 2nd,he was just pulling more than me.

A celica GTS will *LOSE* speed when it shifts to 6th if they are winding out the race. The celica's top speed is acheived in 5th gear.

met up with the same guy today... he claims 14.3 with i/h/e....... my *** so that means my car with the gx pistons would run 14.9 all motor. uh huh

gts = 6 spd 180 hp low torque though. id believe it would run high 14s though with i/h/e not 14.3
