First Speed Ticket after 15 years of driving. (Toronto, Canada)
Hi guys... Just got my first Speeding Ticket today in my 15 years of driving.
Driving on 14th Ave, and Kenndy. It is 9:00a.m in the morning today.. A Van was tailing me.. So I push the gas a little and pull to the right... And the cop pull me over while the van in half way of passing me.
The cop with the radar gun decided to pull me over instead of the van which traveling faster then me. Losers!
So he said he clocked me doing 72 km on a 50 km zone. After I told him what happen.. he decieded to give me a "break".. So he gave me a ticket saying I was doing a "60" KM on a "50" Zone.
The ticket only cost me $40 CDN. And there are no points, because it is below "15" KM over the speed limit. I am thinking of paying the ticket, it is only $40. It will cost me $200 to gave it to some ticket fighter anyway.
My question are, if I didn't get any points on this ticket. Will the insurance company know? Would it effect my insurance? Should I even tell my insurance company if they ask me if I have any ticket for the pass 3 years?
Thanks.

if there are no points involved im 90% sure your insurance company wont know about it. and even if they did find out, i dont think that after 15 years of driving and no speeding tickets they are gonna raise your insurance anyways! 40 bucks isnt too bad, and in the long run, if you did fight the ticket it would probably be worth more than the 40 you had to pay just with time you have to take off work to fight it!
