so i just got ticketed for not stopping completely at a stop sign. i did what everyone does, "cruised" through the stop sign. the fine here in FL is $115. i don't mind paying it, but the thing that bothered me was that since i already took the 4 hour basic driving course last february for speeding at florida turnpike, i won't be able to take the course again (you can only take the course once in a year) and therefore i will get 3 pts. on my record and my insurance will go up . so i asked my friend what to do and he told me to do the following. He said to request a court date and a few days before the actual date, make up an excuse and postpone it. He said to just keep on postponing it until february or past february rolls around. Then he said to finally go to court and plead "no contest". By doing this, i will pay the $115 AND request to take the class since it will be past one year since i last took it! , therefore no points on my record. Please share any comments or opinions regarding my plan.

i thought driving school are once every 18months instead of every 12months.. u might want to check on it. and if you think u can delay it, then sure, wouldn't hurt to try.

just go to court and plea it down to an "obstruction of an intersection" ticket. no points, just a fine.

thanks for the replies guys. if i can't postpone it long enough, i'll do what HondaSales says and just plead "obstruction of intersection". hopefully it will work.
