I thought suspension is supposed to be stiff. But some cops will make up stuff cause they don't like you driving a cool car. You would think they would have better things to do. Your car looks good, but not nearly low enough to warrent being unsafe.
And now, a very boring post.
Sec 84(1) HTA. Penalty for driving unsafe vehicle.
No person shall drive or operate or permit the driving or operation upon a highway of a vehicle,a street car or vehicles that in combination are in such a dangerous or unsafe condition as to endanger any person.
82(5) HTA - authority to seize plates until vehicle has been placed in a safe condition
84(2) HTA Penalty.
Every person who contravenes this section is guilty of an offence, and if the offence was commited by means of a commercial vehicle, on conviction is liable to a fine not less than $400 and not more than $20 000
So what does all this crap mean? Well, 1st off dont worry about the fine. Your car is not a commercial vehicle, so dont be surprised if the fine is $100. Its up to the judge to decide the fine. BTW, this is a no point offence.
Also, from my own experience in laying this charge, there has to be more than just one thing that is unsafe to warrant laying this offence. Just rubbing tires alone is not enough. Must be a combination of things.
Bring the pictures you took, and more importantly, take pictures of the tires showing no unusual wear. Your argument is the tires dont rub at all, and if they did there would be signs of unusual wear....also submit the fact that the vehicle was lowered a long time ago and the tires have been on for a while. Your lawyer will know what to do.
Bottom line is you'll beat this one. Im sure of it.

Booohahaha: I moved this to Legal Questions/Law so that you might get some expert advice or at least feedback on the situation. Left a link in Can East so the others that are keeping up with it can find it.
I PM'd ya regarding the thread move.
