Rep Power: 267 that guy's car is a 6thgen and I don't think it has vtec.. I know the 6thgen coupe SIs had vtec .. not sure a bout a 6thgen EX Sedan.. my friend has an LX version of the same car but it doesnt have power windows or locks .. so i believe the EX only gives u the extra power features..

Rep Power: 302 In canada, the 4 doors didn't come with vtec until the 2005 SI sedan...which is essentially the EX sedan in the US.
So, no, his car can't be vtec unless it was imported from the states...in which case he has too much time on his hands.

Rep Power: 270 1998 Specifications Have to love Google .. don't know if it helps answer your question but the EXs in 1998 got vtec
For Canadians .. the 1998 EX would be the 1998 Si (SiR) and those came with vtec
