I haven't taken one with the Halo on yet, just been really busy. I do assure you they work 100%, i only used these lights about 2months and then blacked out my OEM. They come with high low bulbs and the turn signal light buld.
I am located in Edmonton Alberta Canada. They were on the car. One leaked a bit so i put a beed of silicon to seal it. There were on for about 1month. I decided to black out the origional and sell these for some extra needed cash for school. There is nothing wrong with them other than the fact on was re-glued and sealed. THe bulbs inside are H1, and you can get simulation HID for them.
Well i was told you could get them on the site from the United States for about 270 shipped to your door. I don't know if that included duties or not but usually you get hit with that plus GST. So 195 shipped within canada to your door for lights that have only been used about a month is pretty good. Plus shipping in canada will be faster than from the US. I've ordered bike parts off the net that take about 4 weeks to get plus i get hit with duties.
Well if you want to do it on ebay go for it. If you know someone in the states you can get them shipped to that's fine. The retail value of the lights is $400. Even though the lights may not be worth that much, that's what they retail for and that number is used to calculate the GST and duties. You may end up paying more in duties and tax than what you bought the lights for. To calculate duties they use the retail value. So you must pay gst of 7% and pst which i don't pay in alberta on $400 which is around $30, you have to pay shipping which is $50us to canada which is around $62 Canadian. Cost of the lights i guess is $100 Cnd. Then who knows what kind of duties you are going to be charged at the boarder. Read some of the feedback of canadian buyers on the ebay auction, upwards of $70 just for duties. And you will have to wait 4 weeks to get them becasue they will stop in customs for 10 days. So 100+30+62+ lets say$50 in duties is $245. I've bought many things off ebay for my Mountain bike and i have been hit so many times by duties. I still end up paying less than i woudl in canada so that makes it worth it. But when you can buy somethign in canada cheaper i would just buy in Canada. If you have the means of buying off ebay and shipping to a Family member in the states then go for it.
They assess duty on the declared value not the retail value. Theoretically the declared value should be the CDN equivalent of what you paid for the item. So its 7% GST on the declared value and probably PST unless you are in an exempt province.
Also, you may be mixing up the term duty and brokerage. The brokerage charge is the charge by the carier (UPS, USPS, FEDEX) to bring the package over the border. This is also usually based on the declared value. UPS charges up the *** for this.
So lets try this calculation again: 100 for lights + 62 for shipping (from above) + 7 for GST + 8 for PST (Ontario) + 23 for brokerage = 200CDN.
And you are right you have to wait for a pretty long time too.

Okay this is my final price drop on the lights, i can't go any lower than $180shipped in canada. Any lower and i will keep them as a spare set.
I still have the wheels and i can let those go for $450 shipped to anywhere in Canada. And i will take offers on the wheels for now.
Please no more e-mails offering me 120 for the lights.
