I called them yesterday to check on it...new crank is good and the block is good!
Other than that, their working on it and it has a way to go before finishing...
They said up to 6 weeks for a turn around when i dropped everything off.
I'm thinking i have another 2 weeks before getting it back.
Thanks for asking

What kind of power are you trying to make? Have you thought about just doing a K swap?

I'm going after 350+ HP
switching the car over to E85
pulled the ac
pulled the power stearing
swapping out the t3/t4 turbo for a GT35r turbo
going to push between 20-25psi.
The machine shop is installing my new forged rods, block guard, balancing and polishing the crank, 75.5 wisco turbo pistons.
I have 660 injectors...i do realize i'll be pushing the duty cycle on them to hit the numbers.
The engine should hold up since i'm going completely forged bottom end.
If this thing won't run in the 11's, i'm selling it and buying a 250cc superkart!

While waiting on the engine to be finished up, (hopefully getting it back at the end of this week) i have the rear of the car on jacks and finally replacing the rear suspension.
I'll be swapping out the stock fuel pump for my walburo this weekend.

Just talked the machine shop...
.010 was taken off the head, will find out how much..if any..was taken off the block tomorrow.
It looks like i will be ordering a minimum the COMETIC 76MM .051" thick head gasket...

Lewis Motorsports officially bought Honda bond from the dealership last night.
I was able to install the new oil pump, new water pump, and oil pan on.

Slowly coming together.
I have a lot of music obligations i have to do this week, so i'll be taking my time putting it together...
BTW going with a GT3582 Turbo, and a cometic .051 headgasket since the machine shop took .005 off the block and .015 off the head.

So i was setting the valve lash last night and ran into an issue with my modified vtec rocker arms.
Exhaust was easily set at .008...no complaints here.
Intake is a different story...so let me give you some background on what i did to the intake rocker arms...
Mind you, this car will be used on the strip 90 percent of the time:
Also, i can adjust all the fuel and timing thanks to the ktuner ecu!!!
I found a way to permanently connect the two rocker arms per cylinder and have them ride the big lobe on my Crower stage 1 cam, this way i don't need to hook up/rewire the vtec solenoid...I took out the connecting pin that connects both arms and slid in a ball bearing. This pushes the connecting pin far enough into the smaller rocker arm and locks it into place.
Before i get flamed on doing this...I'm thinking outside the box here and maybe being playing with fire on a newly built engine, but it was solely my decision.
So, the rocker arms in this position will move up and down but are a bit tighter than the exhaust arms. Tight enough that they don't want to go to home position after moving the valves. They move the valves just fine, but the roller is no longer making contact with the cam. I can push the arms back so that the roller will make contact. After i do this, i then set the lash at .006. Now everything is set...
Couple quick questions...
1) Should i worry about the intake rollers not constantly riding the cam?
2) With the vtec solenoid not hooked up, should I take the bolt off the top of the oil port so the inner workings of the rocker arm shaft get some oil? I'm assuming this is the port where oil pressure (activated by the vtec solenoid) goes thru this rod to force over the vtec pins in the rocker arms.

Re: Ktuner and the D17
So the cam lifts up on the rockers, opening the valves, then when the cam rotates past peak lift, the valves stay open and rockers don't follow the cam?
This will 100% destroy your valvetrain in a matter of minutes.

Re: Ktuner and the D17
so there is still a point during rotation in which the rocker jumps off the cam lobe and eventually smashes back into it. it'll eat the cam lobe away pretty quickly. Just make it work properly since this is a fresh build!

Ran into a new issue with the new turbo....can't run the old way. I have to turn the whole setup around. I guess the Exhaust will be going thru the hood...

Engine is in...only 1.5 hours to drop it in and hook up all the electronics.
Then i ran into another issue....the radiator/turbo space...
At lunch today i took off the fan next to the turbo and the radiator almost went back into place. I'm going to be adjusting the radiator mounts and call it good...

got it started yesterday evening....
Looks like my after market fuel pump sucks *****...or rather doesn't suck very well.
I put the original one in and i have a friend giving me an in line fuel pump to help out with the extra fuel.
I'm going to check fuel pressure just because i can get it to start but not run long. it acts like it's starving for fuel...hence the extra fuel pump!
It appears i have one of my 660cc injectors staying open, so i ordered a 800c set. Should be in a day or so.
Going to the Nascar race this weekend so hopefully i can get all this installed before sat...
