d17a1/d17a2 are the same transmissions ?

d17a1/d17a2 are the same transmissions ? is this true ?? and wat is better just swap to vtec heads or go with the ex complete motor ?????

im no expert butim 99.9% positive its the same tranny, and for me the head swap is much cheaper therefore probally beter also if your going to be doing a head swap and geting a vafc2 insted of the ex computer it should be faster then stock ex

The D17A2 tranny has a shorter gear ratio than the D17A1. However, I'm pretty sure they mate up the same with each block.

They are the same transmission per mating with the motor at the bell housing.
