do our car have a engine/trans stiffner? u know that little bracket that connects one part of the trans to the engione block? if we have do we need a manual one or can we use the auto one

Rep Power: 0 honestly, I'd get a second job and save up for a K20 w/ 6-speed manual tranny. oh, and hawaii's got the hottest chicks. I'll trade you my manual tranny for something deluctable outta Waikiki (hope I spelled that right).

Rep Power: 258 you need manual engine mounts.
the holes are already there so you just bolt the pedal assembly in place.
you dont need a ecu you can use the auto one.
you dont need a dash harness unless you want the sensors on the clutch to work which is no big deal to me so im not using them.
you dont need engine harness unless you want the backup lights to work, or you can wire the lights up to the reverse light sensor on the tranny

Rep Power: 258 just do the d17 and get it over with its a cheap swap and youll stil be stick while saving for the k20 which makes swapping the k20 over alot easier since all the other junk was taking care of

Rep Power: 258 the sensor on the clutch keeps the car from starting if its not pressed in.. so if you dont hook them up you can start the car with out pressing the clutch in..
idk about the mounts i bought all the mounts just incase with ESMM

dont even bother stickying it because im gonna post up a complete parts list once my swap is done i got a lil held up being my car was hit an its in the body shop now and my back is killing me lol. but after that it will be done and ill post up ways how to get around not buying some parts or if you want them ill post that too

Rep Power: 0 im sure varner has the answer on what wires to bypass/tap/join together to make that work
varner what did u do so ur key wouldnt get stuck in the ignition because maybe the car thinks its still in drive

Rep Power: 258 ill let you know when i get to that part my project got put on hold when i got in a accident in my car lol..
but i was talking to the guy i got my parts from he said he grounded out sum wires and it worked.
as for P R D its a 5 spd tranny your tellin it when to go when to shift not the ecu

Rep Power: 258 lol u think ur excited i have all the parts sitting in my garage along with a vtec head and vafcII and no car to work on.. lol i prob wont be doing mine for atleast 2-3 weeks until my car is out of the bodyshop

Rep Power: 258 the manual trans is same from like d16 motor and d17's just linkage isnt the same..like 96-05
but 01-05 is the same 01's had sum problems so try to get 04+ i have a 02 so w.e lol

Rep Power: 258 lol if you can get a d16 trans there built alot better then the d17 only thing is you have to rig linkage and shifter up for it to work
