I HAVE A 2K1 CIVIC AND SINCE K20 ENGINE SWAP IS TOO EXPENSIVE I WAS JUST THINKIN ABOUT GETTING MY ENGINE D17 BUILT PROBABLY SPEND BOUT 3G'S WITH TURBO INSTALLED---SO I'M STARTING WITH THE FIRST THINGS TO CHANGE WHICH IS:
SF TURBO KIT---ON HOLD
S-A-A-F-M-S----ON HOLD
INTAKE-----DONE
EXHAUST---DONE
IGNITION---NEED HELP!!!
FLYWHEEL---DONE
UNDERDRIVE PULLEY KIT---DONE
CLUTCH----NEED HELP!!!
CAMGEARS---NEED HELP!!!
WHAT'S A TORQUE CONVERTER? AND HOW IT WORKS...
I NEED HELP ON IGNITION, SO FAR I HAVE DENSO IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS, AND I WAS THINKIN ABOUT AN MSD IGNITION, BUT I DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD HOW IT WORKS AND WHICH SPARK PLUGS TO USE WITH THE SYSTEM...
I NEED HELP ON CLUTCHES, WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET 4 PUCK OR SIX PUCK? WHICH ONES PERFORMS BETTER WITH THE SAME MATERIAL...
I NEED HELP ON CAMGEARS AND HOW THEY WORK!, IS IT NECESSARY TO CHANGE THE OE CAMGEARS? WHAT'S THE DEGREE ADJUSTMENTS FOR? AND WHAT EFFECTS TO THEY HAVE WHEN ADJUSTING POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE, WILL IT MESS UP THE ENGINE IF I DO CHANGE THE POSITION OF THE CAMGEAR, AND WHAT SETTINGS GETS THE MAXIMUM POWER?, IF I GET ONE INSTALLED HOW MUCH HORSE POWER EXPECTED.

Rep Power: 356 I'm not sure what they do, but places like Napa do a trade on their core returns, you buy thiers for full price, and when you bring your old one back they refund you the $$$.

1. what is a SAAFMS
2. ignition, nothing by MSD is produced for our cars so ur out of luck there
3. dont get a 6 puck clutch, ull hate to drive and if this is ur only car then ull really hate driving
plus ur not pushing enough power to need that type of clutch

I found out on my research that "CAMGEARS" don't do jack on your car but just for show, and instead by putting an aftermarket "CAMSHAFTS" produce alot of gains...
So if I get the Camshafts, do I also have to change my valve springs?

Rep Power: 324 the ignitions in our cars produce more spark than the msd sci and youd see minimal gains if you bought one. the msd people told my race shop guy that it was pointless to install it on my car.

Rep Power: 302 yeah also... 3k for a kit installed, won't get u the sf kit and those other things...
for 3k installed, either go custom (time consuming but great outcome) or go with the basic turbodiscounters.com setup. read my review on my new clutch setup... STAY AWAY FROM 4-6puck!!! Very harsh engagement, and my ACT Stage-2 holds more than 300hp...you wont see 300 horsepower with 3grand worth of mods lol, so i'd get a more streetable clutch.
good luck either way, and post up if u have more q's
