Full CF dash in the wrks..NEW pics updated 1/27/04
Ok buy now you have all seen my CF center dash pc on ebay..its been talked about all over the forum.
(quick story on how it got on there)
Me and Tunedncivic were chating 1 night about cf parts and parts we should make for other cars...he told me he seen this dash on ebay that sold for about a grand, he said that this thing was so poorly made and sucked *** as far as Cf goes...he also mention that it wasnt even cleared for that matter...and still it sold for a grand..i was like
what the hell am i doing wrong here...lol... So as a joke i posted up my dash on ebay, not thinkging it would sell....WELL IT DID...again i was like
I really had no intention of selling it since i like it so damn much...I would have liked to cruzed with it for a while before i got rid of it.....that will teach me.
So...since i have already made the center Pc in CF the next thing to do is overlay the entire dash. This will include the cig location, glove box, air bag cover, stering collum bezels( top and btm) and side caps ..making it a full cf dash..
I started the project to night, pretty damn cold night i must say, I had to stop cuz Hshadow came down with a budy who wanted some CF wrk done on his WRX.. ( i always welcome more biz....thanks H )
anyways heres the begining stage of the dash....

I got started when i joined this site about a year ago and saw Kazells overlayed gas door and cig location.........if it wasnt for this site and him making those two pieces, i probably would have never gotten in to it.

tmrw i go down to the yrd and pick up another dash ..i need the center part..I dont want to mess up my factory one cuz i have to put back in after i take the cf one out that i sold on ebay...
Well cf is very time consuming to say the least...and thats what cost so damn much..people without biz LCNCE # will pay about 25 to 30 a yrd.
and thats for the cheep cf..not the good stuff, then theres brushes, rez, epoxys...and you have to know which one to use on diferent typs of materials,...they all wont stick to somthing so you have to know this or just learn from trial and error, then theres sand papers, to ruff to soft, you need to learn about fogging, clearing, rezin pop, solvent pop, and how to fix and cure if it does happen, white hazes, how to get rid of, how to hide you f$#@ ups...if your way into the project and cant turn back cuz of time money and matirels, you need to lurn about fogging when to use and when not , lifting and how to cure....you need rez guns, air brush guns, how to learn how to clear and how much to use, and time frames between each layer of clearing...color sanding buffing and cutting ...and the list goes on and on.....mostly you need to have the tools...its taken me some time now to have the tool that i have now to do the jobs that i do, and that only cuz i have a matco account where i can get the tool i need and make payments on it while i get the jobs done...no waiting...
this is not even half of it cuz there still other things that i havnt even coverd ..like Vacum baging systems, molds, layups...ect...so its not just something you can learn over night ...you might get a pc or two but it doesnt mean you have it down cuz there is still things I'm still learning...and Ive been doing it for many yrs now...

Right on, and if your allergic to epoxy like I am, and get it on your skin..........you can add doctor bills and prescriptions for Prednisone. I take 1 20mg pill everyday for itching. LoL

LOL, ok, first off, when working with Cf and fiberglass.......its very messy and very sticky, it will stick to everything, with that being said, heres the story........
A few nights ago, i was laying out a few parts in my molds......I had CF and fiberglass sticking to my hands.......its a pain in the butt to get off using the other hand because it just keeps sticking. Anyways, i started shaking my hand really fast trying to knock the fiberglass off of my hand.......well, it came loose, flew into the air and landed right on my face. Just picture that, should give you a good laugh, i had a little rash the next morning..but I think the humor in it was worth it. Kazell gotta laugh out of it.

o ya, cant wait for that one hondalover, theres nothing like a custom pc that you can say only a handful in the wrld own.
To me thats wrth it in itself, the dash...when people get in and see it ( cuz you cant freken miss it!) people ask wow that looks cool and to say i made that theres no other one like it..is great...
Girls like to touch it and slide their fingers over it to fill the smoothness of the cold clear( wait r we still talking about CF.....kiddies go to bed now)...lol. Like hondalovers 1st cf pc..that one was great..I almost didnt want to give it to him...lol...that **** came out so cool...
Evn i was amazed at who bad *** it came out
