Rep Power: 0 I do sales for Sony Electronics. I sell plasmas and computers all day long. This is my first ever sales positoin, i only been doing it for 4 months and where I work i've been the top sales agent for the past 3 out of 4 months. I guess i would consider myself pretty good at sales, but it's not insurance sales or anything, computer sales. I'm trying to work my way to IBM sales, some of the guys there have a base salary of 24,000 but with commission they pull in around $400,000 a year. IBM Sales are so much more than Sony thats' for sure, lol... With insurance sales you gotta go through certification right? Just a test? That could be fun, I almost went into real-estate school... a 6 week program to get certified in real-estate, but i'm sure that would be difficult to find a job around here without knowing someone.

Rep Power: 0 Actually...I went thru real estate school. I just couldn't justify going from my present salary to nothing and wait 5 months for the cash to start coming in. Builders are always looking for people. I had an interview with 2 agencies before I even graduated the school, and that was just callin up and saying "Are you hiring new agents?". Initially I just wanted to do it part time but I am not paying some broker $200 a month for "desk rent".
Insurance...you have to have a degree, then you take some securities license test...then you get to go be "that guy". "Hi, I'm an insurance sales beast....can I have your money?" But it pays well. Especially now since Insurance agents are able to deal in stocks and bonds.
If I was starting all over again, I would probably go talk to AMEX Financial Services and become a Financial Planner for them. I think the starting is ~$24k. (If I remember right from talking to them 2 years ago). But their guys make well into the 6 figure to 7 figure range.

Best of luck to you, I heard the lady that owns the Scottsdale Sir Speedy either sold it or went bankrupt. I am not sure, got out of that industry in 1999.

Rep Power: 355 I started getting allergies after moving here from Colorado. Only they didn't start until I had been here for 4 years. I called in sick today. Thinking of doing it tommorrow.

Rep Power: 0 I've always hated summer and I think I'll hate it more this year now than ever because I work in a Kitchen and from other employees I've heard that the AC likes to die and there isn't a nice big fuggin fan at my station like the other two. I mean, its hot already with then oven and the boiler + all the moving around you do. I have a feeling I'll be camping in the walk in fridge a lot.
