Damn right we did. Lighting sticks it to the Canadiens
Dont ask about the spelling because that how the "Canadiens say it".
Anyways, we done handed it to them today. Screwed them over with only 16.5 seconds to go and tied up the game.
Then in OT we took the puck within 1:05 and scored on their *** for the win! BAM!! Holy ****, I don't know how many other people on this forum are Lightning fans but damn! I'm gonna go post in the Canada forum....

Here in Ottawa they're making fun of the commentator of the Lightning broadcast. There's a contest to see who can figure out what he most sounds like when the score....winning so far is a Taradactal from the Flintstones...hehe

HAHAHA....d00d nobody here cares about that team except for Montrealers. Most Canadians are cheering for Calgary right now...I however am pulling for Detroit since my team is out.
Either way, it will be ages before anyone touches the Montreal Canadiens in the winning department. They've been champions 24 times!! Most winningest franchise in all of SPORTS history. Except they've more or less sucked for the last number of years.
Tampa is a good team but......
Do not pin your hopes on beating the Canadiens, they're not that good and Boston pretty much gave away the first round to them (literally). Tampa played in the South East all year long....THE WEAKEST DIVISION IN THE NHL, it's no wonder they wound up on top. If a team like Ottawa or Philadelphia got to play in that division they would have had the President's trophy wrapped up after the first month.
Be proud but be prepared for real competition in round 3 is all I'm saying.

Rep Power: 565 Ottawa and Tampa got screwed in their inaugural seasons because the draft rules were different then. They both had to basically pick up nobodies to fill a roster and get their one draft pick.
Remember Tampa actually used a female goaltender in the pre-season as a marketing stunt - although they said she was gonna play as a regular it never happened. I can't remember her name right now but she was from Montreal.
