Got picked on...

Well im comming home from a kickback and i am minding my own bussiness. I stop at a stop light and this white grandprix GT pulls up next to me... he stops then goes up a little bit, hinting to me he wants a peice of me... so i say sure... (it just rained like 2:30 hours before this) well the light turns green and i floor it... i get a good start, since i have 225 tread, and i am spinning my tires still(i have a auto) i look in my mirror and he isn't going anywhere, he is spinning his rear tires, dum ***, well as i am spinning i hit v-tec and it kicks in nasty ever since i got my v-afc put in... it slowly climbs then once i hit v-tc, bamp, its like i have a turbo all the way to red line. so i get traction and go, he stays behind me the whole time... i stay in front untill 60mph and slow down, he gives me a flyby. this whole time a green intrepid is behind me, and pulls up next to me and paces me for a sec. i floor it and it slowly goes up to my preset 4800 v-tec point, and i stay with him, as we come up to a intersection this car come right infront of me so i slow down very quiclk, and the intrepid puts on his emergency lights like he won me. i was like WTF, but i had to get on the freeway...

ever since i got my v-afc, my car gots some big *****, before my v-tec was shitty, now it pulls nasty

i mounted it under my head unit dash, above the drinks, it looks real nice there and i can still put drinks in my cup holder, just not the super extra large drinks...

Yep, it's true...the V-AFC does work for our cars. Also, the VTEC kicks in hard at anything above 4.5k, and it feels like a DOHC VTEC.

It won't make you as fast a DOHC VTEC, but the VTEC will engage like a DOHC. Actually it kicks in harder then a stock SI, or a nearly stock SI.

The reason being though, is the car is being starved for air, so when the cam changes over you get a n ice boost in horsepower. Basically that means that your car is atcually slower, because before VTEC it's being starved and so it loses power, but once it hits VTEC it's making just a smuch horsepower as it did before.

hey guys, i have a 2003 grand prix gtp and i gurentee you that no civic would even be able to touch it. its a 240hp supercharged 3.8 liter engine.... it also has traction control so you cant peel out in it when your racing, ive already tried many times. with the traction control off you can peel out forever lolz.. but ya, no civic would even be able to keep up with it.. trust me i also have a civic.

Yep, the mother-in-law has a '97 gtp I think or whatever was the first yr for the current body style. The thing flies and it's very fun to drive. They're pretty fast. She has had so many problems that she curses pontiac though..

so far no problems with the pontiac, and ive heard that some of the problems that doo happen with the pontiacs are small and not large problems, ive had more problems with my civic than my pontiac.. plus 2003 is the last year that they are making it in this style so hopefully all the bugs are worked out and it will be a pleasure having this car..

well, i dont know about ANY civic. my friends 97 ex 5-speed with i/h/e beat some kid in a newer gtp and he had a good 2-3 car lead on him. ya they r fast but im sure there is quite a few civics that could run with those things. those gtps might have huge engines but they are pretty heavy.

The transmission was replaced twice. The auto shift-lever thing broke. The a/c stopped working. The radiator fan wouldn't cut off. The alternator went out. That's all I can think of at the moment. She swears that she'll never drive a domestic again.

Anyhow, you have the last year like you said so hopefully everything is okay.

ive raced a integra type r with a jackson racing supercharger and it burned it, and the driver is hella good. i dont think a civic with intake header and exhaust could touch the new GTP, the person that got beat in their gtp must have sucked at driving it... and yea they are heavy but they have a good weight to power ratio.

If you claim you raced a Grand Prix GT (The GT model has only been available since 97+ and has a 3.8 V6 with 200hp) I'm going to call on you. My boyfriend has a GTP and is one of the founding members of ClubGP so I know a thing or two here. Stock, GTs can get upper 15s to low 16s. Nothing against our cars but even the more modified ones just barely come close to that. The sheer fact that you claim he was spinning his rear wheels prove how ignorant you are.

I'd say that even if you did really beat him its because A. he didn't realize he was racing, B. he was spinning...congrats on winning in the rain, something to be proud of.

Haha, you're trying to tell me that your automatic(assumption), low 15 second car, 240 horsepower car, beat out a LSD equipped, Supercharged DOHC VTEC, putting out at 240 at the crank(assuming he has nothing else done), a car that weighs power a considerable amount less, has more aggressive gear ratios, is stick and can be broughten up to 8000 RPMs and he could drive?

Hahaha, yea right...I bet that happened idiot.
