Well... just to add a little bit... when you are figuring out the overall drag of a car/truck, velocity is squared. I forget the equation off the top of my head, but it goes something like f=C*V^2 where C is the coef. of drag and V is velocity and f is the overall force being applied from this. So you can see that if someone plugs in say 50 MPH versus 100 MPH, the force has not doubled, but acually gone up 4 times the amount. Hence the reason why the drag coef. becomes far more important at higher and higher speeds.

Compared to what? My friend has a has a double wasp R-2800 making 2,500 hp at 2,800 RPM and goes 400 MPH like it's nothing (that fast for a non-jetted plain, most go around 100-150 MPH). Or if you want to stay land based, guy down the road has a Hennessy Viper Venom 800 that will do 150 far easier. Point is compared to say a normal civic, yeah that truck will do 150 like it's nothing.

I have a 300 hp and 365 ft-lb V8 in my truck with a 4.10 LSD, and I get beat by cars with 200 hp and a good driver all the time. On the other hand I beat car with more power than me all the time too. Really depends on the driver and the entire set up on the truck, and with an auto, I can see easily how it would lack anything at the top end. If I remember right they put an over sized torque converster in to help protect the tranny, and that ends up zapping about 22% of the power out of the engine by the time it hit the rear end of the truck, which is realitively short, aka bad for high end.
On the other hand, the S2000 is pretty much built for top end...

and what does my car being a muscle car have to do with the fact that it's still capable of a 13.3?? or a stock S2000 at 13.7? i didn't realize muscle cars were forces of the earth that could not be reckoned with by anything other than their own kind.

I have a buddy with a 96 Saleen S281 which runs a low 14 (somewhat modded but not heavy. I borrowed it one day to screw around in and got my *** waxed by one of those.....from about a 45 or 50 mph rolls....he left me in the dust bad....pulled like a raped ape and the truck still had a temp tag so I doubt it was modded. Just goes to show what the tourque of a Viper motor is capable of
