me vs. xA (again)
Was driving my g/f and her sisters & 1 of her cousins back to their house and my cousin tagged along in his xA. Knowing how giddy he is almost always, he downshifts to I guess 3rd gear at around 50-55MPH.... he just rocks back and forth a few times. Crazy me downshifts to 2nd, almost redline. And off we go. Initially I had him by maybe 2 feet, then shifted to 3rd and he had eliminated the 2 feet lead and it stayed the same and we shut down at around 80-85MPH.
I figured it wasnt bad for me considering I had 5 ppl in the car (totalling to about 600 lbs.) and he had none. Last time we did a race from 50, I had pulled a few car lengths on him.
My "power" mods: AEM V2, AEM underdrive pullies
His "power" mods: TRD drop in filter, Magnaflow exhaust
1 of the best things though, the ladies really enjoyed it even though it was a bit slow but, oh well.... always have to please the ladies.

omfg. its a DOCH engine with only 108 hp. it even has vtec. that sucks. thats a horrible engine. i'd stick with the vic. you should never loose to that car unless you mis shift or something. no contest.
^its DOHC and no those scion's dont have vtec technology, they use i-VTTI* or something like that. horrible engine? idk, its not meant to go fast. i would take an scion in a few years over my civic

version of it and call it something else. ford and chevy is Vortech, mitsu has MIVECH, toyota has IVTTI. ok which is inteligent VTEC. this is so frustrating.
just cause they give it a new name don't mean its not VTEC. Thread Starter

uhh, all variable valve timing isnt the same. Old school VTEC isnt quite the same as i-VTEC either.
oh, and I do expect to lose to him in the future.... just not in the near future. He's planning to dump major dollars into it.

AHHHHH
Toyota have two versions --> VVT-i and VVTL-i
the first is simply variable valve timing, the latter (with the L) is variable valve timing and LIFT control. the latter is similar to the VTEC system in Honda, but isnt the same. just a basis for comparison.
and i thought vortech were superchargers and other performance parts, not a valvetrain system?

MajinB-ok i'm going to say this once. HONDA invented variable valve timing and called it VTEC. everyone else has there own version of it and call it something else. ford and chevy is Vortech, mitsu has MIVECH, toyota has IVTTI. ok which is inteligent VTEC. this is so frustrating. just cause they give it a new name don't mean its not VTEC.
Vortech has nothing to do with the valves...

I don't know, but at least you got the ladies happy...
If the ladies liked it then it's all good.
