Lightbulb Whats up with the time slips?

I dont consider myself a know it all, so im allways looking for some help. Ive have really started to notice something when i go to the track. *bassically every weekend* Im curious to why sometimes i cross the line at a faster speed, and my time actually slower, than me crossing the line at a slower speed, and my overall time being lower?

The best i ever ran in my car was a 15.8 @ 84.53mph. I had a reaction time of .680 and a 60ft at 1.92. the rest is kind of illigible. But anyways. There have been times where i have a rt of .680 and my 60ft at like 2.2 and i usually cross the line going about 83 mph. Granted my time is now like 16.8. other times i have an rt of .782 a 60 ft of like 2.1 and and cross the line going 83 mph @ 16.2.

I usually document my shift points and things like that, so i can be more consistant on my shifts. but im just curious as to why this happens? Is it the humidity or sometihng? am i not consistant enough (even though it will stay close all night) or what? granted all these times have gone out the door, cause i get my car back from the shop this weekend with some mods on my new K20A (DC5R)! But any help would be great. Thanks.

your 60' will give you a good indication of what your ET will be assuming you drive normal.

keep in mind also, that weather will affect your runs, so you really should only compare runs done on the same day.

there is a saying that is very true. your fastest ET will never be run on the same run as your fastest trap speed. the reason being, is let's say you had your 1.9 60' launch and your 15.8 ET. since you are getting down the track faster, that is less time your car has to accelerate to whatever trap speed you get when you cross the finish line. if you spin the launch more getting a 2.1 60', and your ET is 16.0, your car had just slightly more time to accelerate before reaching the finish, giving you a slightly higher trap speed.

hope this helps.
