new mustang gt
ran a brand spanking new mustang gt, the og style retro. I hung with him gaining slightly to 135 mph where my redline was 6.5 I didnt want to go more so he won top end but I definately got there faster than he did. Probably another auto?

dude the auto mustang gt 05 according to motortrend does 0-60 in 5.1 secounds. You can look it up yourself if you want. He was totally ****ing with you, sorry.
Its like when I was in the vic in traffic and an s2k was riding my butt , i was ahead of him but I know he was just fing around and having a little fun with me, as I did with him.

i'll take the v6 down like nothing, but if its the gt, it will be close, but i think i'll take him if i get a good launch and no wheel spinning, that why i lose to cars with simular hp, cause i have no traction in 1st and second...lol

94-98 - 225 hp?
99-04 - 260 hp
05+ - 300 hp
the track is different from a roll ... for the roll, all you gotta do is mash the gas ... which would make it easier for both parties to make less human errors as you already know.

yes a stock 5spd can beat an auto v6. seen it done it. v6 autos run mid-high 16's, low 17's if the driver is just some choad. the new gt's run 13.9's supposedly, but ill bet all you'll see people runnin is low 14's.

man, there is no way a civic can catch a 300hp car that does 0-60 in 5.1 secounds like I said , where is s2000man so he can laugh his *** off at this thread like me! Hell the new mustang GT's auto will rip the average s2k driver a new one...Auto does not make a v8 slower dorks!!!!
They have soo much torque that an auto in a v8 generally doesnt produce any slower times!!
they dont need to rev a 4cyl around.
Im sorry but I cannot and will not believe this. You guys really dont have a chance in hell against one

a new GT auto or not, would pull on you hard core, ESPECIALLY up top. you'd have to run a LOT of boost to keep up with that car. it can dip to LOW 13's stock. you're talking LS1 territory here. (there was a bone stock new GT running 13.3 at the track last time I went. and i do believe he was auto too)

well i hung with him til 135mph so I wont change my wordings on that one. He beat me after 135 where he kept going and i slowed down cause I didnt want to go more, I knew he had top end, but its about who gets there faster.

they are very heavy cars
99-04 V6: Low 15's
05 V6: High 14's
99-04 GT: High 13's
05 GT: Lowish-Mid 13's (13.3 is the best I've heard)
Moral of the story: Most people don't know how fast Mustangs are, and the car the original poster raced was, like S2k man said, not racing, or just drove off the lot.
Truth is, however, that given equal driver's, its a drivers race between an auto 99-04 V6 and a 5-speed EX Coupe. The better driver will likely win. The auto pre-05's were much slower than the manuals.
