Rep Power: 0 MR2 vs. Civic SI
I'm getting ready to buy a 1991 Toyota MR2 (non-turbo), a friend of mine has a 2002 Civic SI (fully stock). A discussion got started at work about which one is faster.
I think that the MR2 would easily beat the SI, if the drivers are equal in skill. What do you guys think?

Rep Power: 0 I've ran a 5sp turbo mr2 with no exhaust and walked it prety bad in the si, then I ran a non turbo w/intake, header and exhaust and it was a lot closer but he still lost by at least a car if ur gonna go with the mr2 swap in the solara/camry v6 motor and supercharge it, there was one in the USCC, put on by sport compact car mag every year, and it blew away the competition hardcore

Rep Power: 0 No it was turbo u could hear it spoolin and it has a weak *** BOV ,it was 2 cars from 20-80 which is prety bad, but then I've raced another turbo one that was fast as crap it just depends on what it has done but stock there not that quick I'd say mid 15s at best... I've seen a red one at the track that ran low 11s in the 1/4th so they deffinatly have potential

Rep Power: 0 stock mr2's are low-mid 15's driven right stock. they do better in the 1/8 mile cause of the rwd. they don't have much top end power though. (stock)
modded they can be VERY quick. much faster then if you were to mod the SI. (turbo models)
check out www.mr2oc.com you'll find alot of useful info over there.
