Went crusing tonight to the mall to meet my significant other. Heading down highway 70 in moderate traffic, this guy in a black V6 mustang 5 speed (99-04 V6) got beside me with his window down. (mine's up, tinted, and i see he keeps glancing over peeking at my car. (I'm in the left lane, he's in the right) I'm just cruisin in 5th gear and lightly tapped the gas, not even enough to spool or even let the BOV go off. So he then starts tapping his gas, then he drops it down to 3rd or 4th gear and keeps cruising. I figured what the hell, i need to stop and get gas soon anyways. I was cruisin at about 60mph so i decide i'll drop it down to 3rd. As soon as he heard me mash the clutch in, he wails off WOT. Dropped into 3rd, nailed on the gas, turbo spooled instantly and......damn....the car ran like a champ!! Its freezing here now, and i had to increase the fuel gain before i left home to keep from running lean. He had the jump on me and after i layed on it in 3rd (clutch slipping the whole time! It's never done that!) i flew past him with the sexiest compressor scream you can imagine. 1 car ahead.....rammed it into 4th ( i love revoSS )....1 1/2....2... The light a ways up turns red, so i shut down. We both come to a stop at the light.....he's looking over with a blank expression.....i roll my passenger window down and i pretty much look like this--> . He stared for a while....then goes..."whoa......"

nice kill, however i smoked many v-6 mustangs and camaros without boost. All of them were automatic though, but still.

Nice run. Nothing better than beating a car that you shouldn't have beaten stock, whether by adding mods or by out-driving them. BTW, this was a 99-04 V6 right? Also, I would like to point out that the Mustang driver was not an jerk, proving, once and for all, that not ALL mustang driver's are that way. Again, nice run, and congrats.

i don't know I have raced a couple 5spd v6 mustangs and a 5spd v6 firebird and i beat all of the mustangs by a car, car and a half. The firebird I had until I missed 3rd. I guess I am not compleatly stock, but I think that a v6 mustang is a drivers race all the way.

Smoked v6 camaros at 125 whp?? Kinda strange since they have more horsepower and torque stock than you do, kinda a big difference. 0-60 in 7 seconds, 1/4 in low 15's.

Not the automatics, and especially not stock. My brother has a 00 V6 mustang 5 speed, modified: I/E, and he's a great driver and can only pull off mid 15's. A good buddy from high school had a V6 auto Camaro, modified: I/E, pullies, superchips modified ECU, etc, and he could only pull of mid 15s as well.




btw, i walk on my brother everyday , he hates me. He's trying to save for a custom turbo kit himself. A guy here has a custom turbocharged v6 mustang and it makes the GT guys cry

Nice! I used to have a '97 Prelude with an intake, exhaust, MSD ignition, Nology wires and bored out throttle body. I raced several 5.0s and turbo Eclipses and had no problem beating them. I also raced a CBR600 on the freeway and beat him.

I meant to say that alot of people pull up to our civic'c and want to race..But whoever pulls up to yours will not know your turbo'd at all so there gonna lose for sure especially a v6 stang..I can just imagine the look on their faces when you pull away..

Also my second comment about hardcore is that only lets say 5 percent of you guys on this site have spooled up civic's..

So you guys are like god's on this forum for doing it ...

Takes ***** to turbo a civic and money....

I wish I was in your shoes for all those kills you get..Im just wondering if your engine will hold up to all that power...

Hold up to all that power? What amount of boost is he running? Our stock internals are good for 7-8 psi. Without knowing his setup, I would guess he is puttin down about 225 hp. Our engines can easily cope with that king of power. When he gets closer to 300 (if he isn't already there) then he will have to be concerned with building his internals.

because my car is 350 hp and 365lbs of torque. G35 got smoked by at least 3-4 carlenghts and yea he prob was a bad driver the clk is my friends and its an auto and i took him from the line and kept goin prob 1-2 car lenghts

yea people on the gto forum are doin a pulley upgrade,i/h/e and seeing 390rwhp so thats about 420 ponies for a few bolt ons
