almost beat a wrx at the track.

well I know almost isn't good enough but it was as close as I ever will get NA
It was the last run of the day at california dragway on my right, in line was an srt4, behind him the subbie, then a 6th gen civ and a cavi. ...I was hoping to get the one of the last 2 but I ended up getting the wrx
While waiting in line I heard the conversation between the driver (a chick) and the owner. It was her first time running the car and the owner was riding shotgun. I still thought that I had zero chance.
Well finally lining up, I prepared to get my *** handed to me and decided to just concentrate on the run (I have been trying to crack into the 15's)
The light goes And I cut the best light I have ever cut a .646 I see out of the corner of my eye that I had an instant car and a half. she got a 1.072 light. by the 1/8 mile she was at my rear quarter panel and pulling. It was gonna be close. The thought of actually beating a sub flew threw my mind. she was right next to me at the 1/4 and beat me by only .25 seconds I almost had her. she ran a very slow 15.6 and I ran a 16.28. If I got a better 60ft time I would have had her. I don't think i'll ever get that close again.
My best of the day was

16.123 @ 84.77
60 ft 2.377

AWD lauches are really hard to do and take some practice. There is a fine line between a good launch and having the RPM completely drop down and bogging. Good job for almost beating the Rex.

wrx's are incredibly hard to launch....i've driven a few and its really hit or miss. you get a really good launch or you bog it and do horrible. once you get how to drive it, its a fast car......still surprised you got it that close though, good time
