Domestics are cool sometimes.......

I was sitting at a light on my way home from working out and this guy in a 2003 convertible Mustang pulls up next to me. He's about 40-45 years old and he is seriously eyeing my vehicle.

Him: "WTF kind of car is that?"
Me: "A Honda Civic"
Him: "Damn! Really? I couldn't even recognize it. That's and amazing job that you've done on it. I hate Civics, but your car is making me change my mind. I love the modifications. That's a lot of time that you've put into it!"
Me: "Thanks man"

The light turns and we go our seperate ways.

It's so cool when Domestics and Imports can get along. It's all about the appreciation of the art of the car, not the name on the engine.

"WE SHALL PERSEVERE, WE SHALL PERSEVERE" , always loved import and doms, especially a nicely done chevelle ss, or a 64 impala, or maybe even a charger, swapped in with the new 572, with 15 in american racing wheels no need for a "System" i got all the sounds i need

then again there also the e36 97' sedans, the grffith, or better yet a nice little EVO VI rs hehehehe, i like cars, ,,hehehehe

Actually, I only show love to what looks good out there on the road. If a domestic looks like **** I'll let ya know, same thing for any import. If its got a wing and nothing under the hood to help it fly, you're gonna hear comments sorry guys. Everyone...please...say no to rice!

I usually don't get much crap about it. Keep it clean and tasteful and you're usually fine. Then I explain what I've done is all functional, and I get even further from the rice burner stereotype. Except for my boss at my little school part time job, but he's an ignorant moron (who happens to buy 60's cars, then fixes them up, but doesn't make them any faster, just makes them look stock and new... then gives me ****... yeah, ghey)
I've got a friend who's Firebird runs 11.80@117 on just the engine (it defines "sleeper"... looks like the 15 year old car it is... no appearance mods at all, $5K for the car, at least $8K in the drivetrain)... he drove my car... and was amazed on how fast it was... through corners. So we just agree to disagree on how to work on the cars... and agree that our cars are both fast in their own rights.
