RSX Type S VS. GSR
So I am with my buddy a couple months ago and we are heading over to his house and I see a green GSR waiting at an intersection to cross traffic and turn in our direction, we pass by him and he follows us to the next stop light where the road splits to double lanes, I had been waiting to give this guy a run for a while, he has sort of the "ricer" mentality if you know what I mean, he pulls up next to us and I make eye contact and then wait for the green light. I launched at only 1000 rpm and in the excitement hit my 7900 rpm rev limiter in first, shifted to second, put it to the floor again and I had him by about a car length (we only raced a short distance) On our way back through we saw him at a store so we pulled in and he said he had his A/C on, I think he probably would of beat us or it would have been pretty close if we had a better spot to run at, plus I was'nt too used to my car at the time either. Oh well, there will always be next time......

You're kidding right? Have you seen first hand, an ITR losing to a Type S? If you have it was driver error in the ITR. Stock for stock an ITR will out run a Type S. Even mod for mod the ITR will come out on top. I have witnessed first hand a few different races between the two of these cars. ITR came out on top each and every time. In both races the drivers were of equal talent. I know them both personally. The first time they ran, they were both stock. The ITR beat the Type S by about a car length. One of the last races that I have seen between them they were both slightly modified. Both cars had an intake and cat back exhaust. The outcome was a little different but the ITR still won. The only difference was that the ITR only won by about a half a car length.

I'm not going to argue. I've only seen a slightly modded type-s(injen cold air, hondata manifold gasket) against a stock ITR. They were quite even until the top of 3rd, then the rsx-s pulled. BUT, back to the topic, a type-s would without a doubt put some length on a GSR.

Usually, what i have heard, the S usually will pull on the ITR, especially when it hits 3rd.
Those are my facts that i have heard over at clubrsx.
I personally have not went up against a ITR, but i would love to sometime.

personally i think its a drivers race...
and mod for mod, i believe the S would win given equal drivers

It is a driver's race, but I have to disagree....the typeR would take the rxs-s. Someone I know has a typeR, and he has almost no engine mods but a mugen intake and spoon exhaust. Also he has a JDM front end conversion, Spoon wheels, and stuff like that, but no engine mods besides the intake and a catback. We drove around town, and at almost every stoplight some honda or acura wanted to race us. We did race a type S, and won by approx. 1 car, but the guy had 2 more people in the car, and we were only the two of us. The rsx only had an aem cold air (I know because he goes to school with me).
It's still a driver's race...but I believe the ITR is better.
I know I'll take it over an RSX any day...

He whooped his *** even with a ****ed up shift.
USDM Type R's are slightly faster than GSR's, plain and simple.
Everyone thinks they are missles and the unbeatable Honda cause of the "R" badge. "R" don't mean **** in the world of low octane fuel and Emission restrictions.
